Very clean rooms, very friendly staff, the kitchen is in working order and the other travelers staying there were very nice. The staff were helpful with booking tours, activities and transportation. All and all I would recommend it

Fantastic. Great staff who are willing to help with anything. They will make you coffee at any hour of the day and can help you plan a trip because they know the area so well. They do free bookings and most tours pick up directly from there for free since it's right at the bus hub. The rooms are clean and safe, the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and utensils for free. The lounge is amazing and the best place to meet new people. One of the cheaper bars in town actually and they have a great happy hour. Honestly you and a group of friends could have a great night just drinking right there. Otherwise you can meet people and head out since it's right next to the highway but still in walking distance to downtown. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Rekjavic, especially if you are young and looking to get the most out of you trip.

The place is clean and the beds are great. The only thing is they have 24 people in one room, which is a bit too much. Their common room is great and the kitchen too. The washrooms are really clean and well maintained which was a huge plus.

Great place, friendly staff, friendlier co-habitants. If you really like travelling, do stay at hostels such as these. Not only is it pocket friendly but you get the added bonus of meeting people from all over the world, which in essence is what travelling is all about. They have a fantastic lounge to sit and unwind with random old furniture and dimly lit lights and great music softly playing in the background. The kitchen is well equipped with all the stuff you might need for cooking and if you are lucky you might get to share food with people and talk over meals. Beds are comfortable and the showers are amply adequate. What can I say, Iceland is awesome!

Fantastic hostel with a good bar and local knowledgeable staff. It has some odd quirks other Nordic hostels have (such as bringing your own sleeping bag or paying to rent a duvet) but the sleeping accomodations are certainly serviceable. Also, there's a lack of secure space for luggage in rooms (with only medium sized standing lockers which you must get the key for downstairs.)

Downside is all location based as there's nowhere to really get food anywhere nearby, or pick up toiletries and such. So, a 15 minute walk into town becomes necessary - a potential problem in the rain.

Would stay again. It's a great hostel, which draws in a great crowd.

Beautifully decorated communal area, clean and comfy rooms, friendly and helpful staff (big shout out to Eddie in particular!) and overall incredible value for money. I intend to visit Iceland again before too long; when I do, I will book myself into this place again without any hesitation.

Nice hostel. Located about 20 minutes from city center by foot. Pretty clean. There is also company you can rent cars in reception area. And just behind a corner is another one where you can book trips all over Iceland. My only complaints would be it is quite dark in a lounge therefore it is difficult to read a book. And kitchen upstairs was overcrowded most of the times so considering amount of tourists coming into Iceland this should be expanded.

Best hostel I've stayed in Europe so far. Excellent staffers, very kind and helpful. Room sizes are ok but the best thing is the additional washrooms located outside of rooms. Is an excellent option especially when six or so people are sharing a room and may need the bathroom at the same time. Really loved my stay here. Highly recommended.

Cozy place, affordable, with nice, helpful staff. Most, if not all sightseeing companies will stop their buses right in front of the entrance to pick you up. Bathrooms are tidy, kitchen has lots of free-to-take complementaries like tea, salt, sugar, etc. Guests are mostly nice people, some quiet, some talkative, but nobody will bother you if you don't want that.
Just one more note - if there is "free stuff" in the kitchen, it does NOT mean you can take the whole box of tea to your backpack (kudos to a bunch of brainless girls we had displeasure of meeting here).

Trendy and comfortable. The prices were good and the location is great. They had information on local tours and travel options and they even had cheap, used cars for rent. They have a nice, but small, kitchen that we used for our meals. It started snowing outside, but it was so cozy and welcoming inside that we sat and enjoyed conversation on the comfortable couches and chairs and talked to people from all over.

So far it's an excellent place. Everything is clean and neat, bring your own toiletries. A towel is 500 kronas and a duvet 1000 for the stay. Every body in the reception is very nice

Bus hostel is a very clean hostel, but that's most of what it has to offer. I'd say its a bit above a 3 star, but not quite 4. The hostel is located about a 20 minute walk from the city center. But it's the cheapest we could find for the distance. They make you pay for a duvet (1000 ISK), which makes no sense. You also have to put a deposit for a locker (another 1000 ISK), you can't use your own lock.

Bus Hostel Reykjavik is a short walk from the sights and shops of the city center. It has so far been incredible value for money, given the prices of accommodation here, and provides a friendly, laid back atmosphere to its guests. It is well equipped whether you are a hiker, traveller or anyone else with a fully equipped kitchen (minus condiments), bar which follows the Icelandic happy hour tradition and common room of comfortable and plentiful seating. Whether a quick stop over or hotel replacement I could recommend Bus Hostel.

The bus hostel was great! The staff was helpful and friendly and let us drop of our bags before check in and even take showers in the shared bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, and there are kitchens are available to guests who want to cook rather than eat out (which can be expensive!) The rooms so have dark curtains for night (we stayed during the summer when the sun doesn't really set), but I would still recommend bringing an eye mask if you're sensitive to light when you sleep. It's an easy walk to get into town, and there are plenty of bus tours available that leave from the hostel to see sights outside of Reykjavik. Breakfast is available for a small fee for guests.

It's really comfortable and quiet. Super clean, the staff is kind and helpful and it has a good location. The only bad thing is they charge for everything, Iceland is already too expensive and if you're traveling to a very cold place you expect that the blanket is included and not with an additional cost.

I rate this hostel four stars because: 1, super convenient that SADcars is located in the same building. 2, staff were friendly and helpful for the 1 night stayed 3, place was clean - rooms and bathrooms and 4, reasonably priced for a hostel in Iceland
I stayed in the 24 bed dorm which was fine except for the late night packers zipping and unzipping, as well as, the early morning packers zipping and unzipping! Very hard to sleep through that high pitch noise for me. This hostel is located far from the downtown core, I think, but again the 24 bed dorm is pretty cheap so it's worth, in a way.

Very nice hostel! Clean big rooms friendly staff nice public area. There is about 8min walk to the city centre. However, there are some flaws. You gotta pay a fortune to rent a blanket and they don't have laundry facilities .. whatsoever. Overall good experience

They have the last McDonald's sold in Iceland in 2009. I now will never eat McDonald's ever again!! Plus they have a bar too! Super nice staff as well.

Excellent hostel. Friendly staff and competitive prices. The breakfast is cheap and good, and the rooms are nice and tidy. There's also a couple of shared spaces and food storage for anyone. Recommended!

Great place to stay in Reykjavik. Very close to the best of Reykjavik.
Nice and good staff, well decorated place and comfy rooms. A pleasure to stay here, and wait the bus too!
