This is the point where you decided whether you are going to brave the log walk (in summer) or wade the river (winter) to gain access to the far bank of the river in order to see Glymur falls (once across it's about 1km further up the ravine to the falls itself). Stunning scenery and an interesting cave passage down to the riverside.

Worth the hike. When you get to the part where you need to take off your shoes to Wade through a glacier stream, do it. It's worth it.

You will need to take off your shoes and wade through the first part. The river is much wider than the log. Bring a towel! Alternative route stays on the eastern side and gives you a better view on the waterfall in my opinion. And you keep your feet dry ;-)
