To second a review from Iziz Kohn. Same has happened to me. The Reception lady, is genuinely warm and really nice. But the guy.. manager or owner.. not sure, is a bigot, false with his fake put up smile. Don't feel comfortable and settled when you book there, that guy will make up anything.. and you can find yourself with no place to sleep.. but under the sky in nice beautiful Mitspa Rimon. BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

**** I see the owner replied. EVERYTHING I wrote is TRUE. If they don't like your accent or anything, that sleazy guy manager or whatever, can make something up you can be registered and all STAY AWAY!!!

Avoid this place by all means!

I would usually not leave reviews at all, good or bad but I feel as a service to others I have to make an exception and write the following.

I checked in online with a friend, showed up, started the registration/sign in process with a nice helpful lady, when suddenly a man approaches -looked like the top guy- whispering something into the ladies ears they both disappeared for a few minutes without mentioning anything leaving us stunned, then returning with a vicious tone giving us excuses for having to refuse us like overbooked etc.. Not sure if it was the way we were dressed or the language we spoke Being that we traveled for 18 hours to get there and get some rest we where not in a argue position we just left and will be filing a claim with the local authorities in the very near future.

This is a great hostel. The rooms are comfy and the staff is very knowknowledge about hiking the area. Thumbs up for showing some great hikes.

Make sure to check in before 9pm though to avoid the 50 shekel penalty.

Great and friendly hostel. Located next to bus station and just outside edge of crater. Best spot for hiking trips.

This place is cozy, comfortable, and easy to get to. The people are friendly and you can probably make new friends if you stay here. It's a great place to visit, and hike around in one of the most beautiful natural areas in Israel :)

I can only recommend this hostel! I was there for the second time now, and I'm sure, whenever I will return to Mitzpe Ramon, I will head directly to Green Backpackers. The dorm I was in the last time is basic, clean and comfortable, the 2xDouble-bed room we had this time is super cosy. Both staff and travelers are always nice and kind and very very helpful, with lots and lots of advice for activities, hiking routes, restaurants, etc. in the area. Plus it's a five minute walk from the cliff with a great view for sunset. Don't miss the golden hour!

    “Brilliant !!!!!!!”

Three of us stayed in the hostel on our way from Elat to Tel Aviv. Even though we only stayed one night and we arrived quite late we experienced exceptional service. Girl that welcomed us was very helpful and provided us with the essential information about different hikes/walks and other things available in the area. As we woke up very early the following morning to enjoy the views of the crater, rushing to see everything we planned and to get to the Tel Aviv before the sunset we left our stuff in the room that we shared with other guests (phone and some clothes). Once we had reached the Tel- Aviv we found out about our loss. Even though I was very skeptical about contacting the hostel, my wife was determined to get her pictures from her phone back !!!!She contacted the hostel and received immediate reply that all our belongings are safe and were sent to us next day. Thank you very much Green Backpackers !!!!!!!

Amazing base to hike from. Really lovely staff and facilities. The staff had all the area info and maps and had even hiked all the day trails themselves. They went out of their way to be caring, for example by making sure everyone bought food before the grocery closed for shabbat. The emphasis of the hostel is in being eco friendly and its filled with all kinds of amusingly repurposed items. The beds were surprisingly comfy. I'm glad I got the chance to stay there and see for myself why the ratings are so good!
