Location is great, and the rooms are comfortable and nice. The food was bad, though.
Good service, nice value for money, vegan friendly. But very small room (no balcony)
Beautiful hotel, good food (not amazing..), nice rooms and good service.
Best hotel in Eilat. Prime location, great kitchen. Room 358 is recommended, almost twice the size of the other rooms on the floor.
Well, this is not our first time staying at this property, but it is just the last. I wasn't planning on reviewing this property, & it was becoming a distant memory until I needed to contact them today about a billing issue. The review of the stay is first to be followed by the issues that arose.
First about the room/hotel/spa:
The hotel rooms are worse for wear, but still clean & well maintained. We stayed in a Plaza Suite. The carpet in the room, although clean, had stains all over. The bathroom configuration (bedroom) is in serious need of an overhaul and modernization. The hot tub on the balcony was clean but the chairs & tables on the balcony were in disarray & the padding was due for a replacement. The hotel provided plates of sweets & fresh sliced fruits daily but never cleared away the dirty plates. The sweets were ok, but were left overs that were "aging". The public areas of the hotel are nice, the business lounge is well run & the staff was ok.
The Spa is well run, clean & making reservations for massages, facials, etc., was effortless.
The problems occurred when I was reviewing my bank/credit card statement after returning home. I was charged in the wrong currency. I called the hotel & spoke to the accounting department where I was admonished for:
1. Making the reservation incorrectly
2. Signing for a USD charge at checkin even though I asked the clerk for a charge in ILS.
3. Also, after requesting to speak to a manager, and after what might have been an attempt to connect me, the accounting clerk hung up the phone on me.
I called back and was connected to the manager's secretary Inbal, who reiterated the "blame" for the matter on me. She further suggested that my "perception" of the treatment I was receiving from the hotel on the phone concerning this billing issue was wrong. I find it incredibly irritating when someone in a customer service role suggests to me how I should feel about the service that they are providing.
She concluded by saying that she would try to "fix" the problem by honoring my request to reverse the USD charge and recharge in ILS. This is on a Thursday when the request was made, and a "decision" won't come before the upcoming Sunday.
My issue with The Queen of Sheba Eilat is not so much with the fact that the charge for USD $1569 was in the wrong currency, but with the fact that the discussion to have the matter corrected was so negative. The typical response of passing the blame back to the customer is unacceptable and unwelcoming. The entire conversation should have been them being informed of the problem, and the hotel immediately agreeing to fix the problem and an apology for the mixup. Instead, I got a load of garbage and a "promise" to look into the matter with the right person when they return next week.
The following week I received a follow-up call from Inbal, but it was too little too late. In addition, on that call, Inbal was very competitive, and at one point was actually screaming at me. She informing me that my problems were very minor and inconsequential and she (and the hotel General Manager) are very busy people who needed attending to more important manners. This followed up my request to speak with the General Manager which, after another call, was denied again by Inbal, telling me that he was too important of a person to deal with trivial matters such as mine and that I would need to be satisfied with her or the Guest Relations manager. Given that I wanted to speak with him ultimately about the extremely poor customer service that was provided by most of these people, I decided to let my wallet do the talking in the future and stay somewhere else in the future.
The total disregard for basic Decency in customer service at the Queen of Sheba Eilat hotel is astounding. What would have been an overall decent stay was destroyed by the terrible attitude of Inbal, the assistant to Mr. Schneider, the General Mgr as well as people in the Acct Department. I was wondering why this property ceased to be a Hilton and became independent. I think I now know why.
Right on Eilat's Walkbroad: A big, beautiful hotel with very nice staff. The rooms (5th floor) are very big and highly equiped. Breakfast and dinner were very satisfying with many vegtables and more dishes. Highly recommend!
It is a nice hotel. Good food. Although i was pist off that they charge for everything a little bit. Like to play snooker you have to rent the material.i didn t like it.
beautiful place. To much good food. The best part was best Shabbat services I have ever experienced.
Beautiful hotel with a uniqe style and great location. The service was great, the food was good. The room was clean. The only thing that was better in other hotels from my stand of point is the swimming pool, it was built very uncomfortable for the guests that love to swim.
Even though I took the best The most expensive suite in the hotel the service they give was the worst I hever have .
Clean the room without cleaning the kitchen,Leave the sink contaminat.
Send employees who do not understand English or Hebrew.
After I called 5 time to clean I speak with the manager of the service here tali alosh she promised to help but still i need to call again after one hour that o am waiting.
After I told tali that I am going to write my Opinion she told me With Israeli chutzpah
That I can do what ever I what to do.
A fun resort, close to the beach, also has a mall ground floor, highly accessible, above average accommodations and a very decent dining hall
Very luxurious hotel. Beautiful ancient egypt interor design.
Nice place, but not more. Reasons for that were the standart food, lack of activities for little kids and more. We think Eilat has better hotels to offer.
Great hotel, new decorations, decent food, entertainment every day, underground free parking. Nice!
Nice hotel, part of the rooms are recently renovated. The biggest problem is that only even floors have balcony.
The hotel is Very crowded, this time of year. In our room the A/C was squikelin, but taking care by the stuff. Breakfast was a buffet serving with verity of foods.
Excellent hotel with beautiful and well maintained landscapes and pool area. Centrally located with excellent local restaurant. You must try their chicken wing appetizer
Staff and very helpful and premises extremely well kept
Made my trip to Eilat all that more enjoyable
Mediocare hotel. Rooms or ok. Location is excellent.staff is very polite. Food is below average very industrial and low quality same as catering. SPA is not really meant to be SPA they don't even have robes. Mediocare experience.
For 5 stars hotel very disappointing
