  Hotel has been refurbished to a very comfortable standard. Beautiful views and friendly staff. Great music courtesy of Cork band " The Ramblings" who kept us entertained with age appropriate music all night. We had dinner which was nice but breakfast which wasn't really up to standard. Eggs were completely over done, sausages were tasteless and the replacement egg when it finally arrived was inedible.
  Also even though I wasn't in there my partner said mens' toilets off the bar were horrible and needed to be cleaned of the urine on the floor. Certainly not be in the running for toilet of the year award ( see sign on the wall of public toilets in Portmagee). All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back

  Lovely hotel, great food and friendly staff. Hotel has been upgraded but still has charm of the old building, and fabulous location and views. Highly recommend.

  We enjoyed a nice cold beer in the bar lounge, after a long day traveling and to wait out a passing rain shower. Lovely building, I was particularly entranced by the hotel foyer, all timber - beautiful. Good selection of beers, and good service. Looked to be a pool table as well.

  Dropped in for lunch on the way around Valentia. Food was good and service was great. Nice and friendly. Good for family lunch. Recommended, pop in have a look.

  It's really come to top most places in Sth Kerry. The owners have put a lot of money time and effort into the Royal and it shows . Great food. The whole island looks brilliant.
