We have just returned after a very relaxing break away. From before we got to the hotel the young vibrant and very efficient receptionist named Aisling was a great help. She is extremely warm and friendly on reception. As we arrived at the hotel we were told we were upgraded this made for a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the tempreature of the room was great not stuffy but could be adjusted.the food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. There was a lovely warm ambience throughout the hotel. We received a beautiful surprise to our room so a huge thank you Aisling and staff it was 100% appreciated. We will definitely be back. Also today on check out we met another lovely friendly receptionist. Thank you Prince of Wales hotel for a fantastic break away. Antoinette.

Nice room, comfortable beds, Tuesday was wonderful. Unfortunately, the nightclub begins booming (Wednesday night) at 11pm and continued for hours. No thought to sleeping hotel guests. Made our last night there miserable. 😩

Organised a stag weekend in this hotel and could not fault it. It is perfectly located for access to all that Athlone has to offer. The staff were very helpful in helping to organise the two day event. Their bar is great and there is a nite club under the hotel. Highly recommended hence the 🖑 stars.

I made a booking to stay in the hotel a couple of weeks ago with Lidl Breaks. My booking got lost in the system, however we were given a room immediately followed up with a phone call from Leonie at the desk. She offered us a fantastic deal for two course bar food with B & B.
THe hotel is very comfortable, Rooms have been upgraded and were spacious, spotless and had all of the extras we expect from 4 star hotels. We enjoyed the Big Band playing in the Bar - Big Deal who were outstanding on the night .

We will go back to the Prince of Wales, staff are friendly, helpful and very courteous. We got a warm welcome at the desk and we really enjoyed our night .

I got the wings from the bar menu, if you've had good wings in the past dont bother with these. Pizza had too many toppings, it was average. 15 minutes waiting for service, 30mins waiting for food. Most of the beers taps were empty. I've heard the carvery is good. Seats were comfortable though

Incredibly noisy. You feel like you're in the dance club below.

Great food, staff very friendly and good promotions on the beer on match days.
Hotel room perfect, the full Irish breakfast included a slice of black pudding, it did not seem to go down well, compared to the white pudding.
The nightclub can be noisy around the smoking area and the rooms above could avoided.
Car park full on this weekend.
