Nice clean hotel. Just outside the town. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Ask for the steak and pint deal in the restaurant. Very nice and a good price. Would definitely stay again if in Athlone.

small and compact room, dated and very hard pillows. I know you get what you pay for but an upgrade is badly needed to keep this hotel going.

2nd year we have stayed for the ploughing excellent hotel, great staff and mostly the best bed I've slept in so comfortable, carvery excellent coming from a fussy eater in our party so would highly recommend it

A drive from Athlone town and located in a retail park, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast and a good nights sleep.

A great place that is unfortunately unattended and ignored. No investment in aesthetics. The hotel looks like a dump. Cracked paint, mold and dust. Senior staff and managers are sour and unfriendly. Junior staff kind and welcoming. All tables were dirty and sticky. A la carte food well cooked and delicious. Breakfast was a disaster. Everything was dry and and greasy. Fried eggs were stone well done. Bacon was overcooked, pudding was dry and crispy. No drinking water was supplied. Greed for profit should be put aside and investment in quality and service should be a priority.

Stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. Really friendly place, even the cleaning staff greet you as you walk by. The room was lovely: pretty decor and very clean. Our room was located at the back of the hotel so we didn't get any of the noise other reviews have mentioned, it was very quiet.
The food should get a mention as we were very impressed by the restaurant. We had a voucher for a bottle of bubbly when you spend €30. After the first night we were really excited to go back to eat there again as the food was gorgeous, and not too expensive.
The second night was busy because of the community games so the bar just had a carvery menu. We were a bit disappointed but our mood lightened when we ate the food as again it was gorgeous!
We will definitely be coming back in the near future.response / report this review
