First of all the spa is amazing and clean and deserves 5 stars.

On the other hand the swimming pool part is disgusting. It hasn't been updated or cleaned for years. The sauna, when you open the door you get splinters off of the handle. Then there's black all over the tiles under the heater. The jacuzzi was black and smelled of dirt not chlorine and the outside had scum sitting on it, vile and if that wasn't enough the showers in the changing rooms were disgusting. There was hairs in the plug holes, shampoo, conditioner and dirt all over the tiles and the hairdryers were out of order. Came in and out of there as fast we could in case we caught a disease

Linda my wife booked us into the Millrace hotel from the Thursday to the Sunday as a wee break away for my 50th and we both had a great time. Bunclody is a lovely little village and the hotel sits right on the edge of the village. We found the hotel to be clean and welcoming our room was larger than normal and very clean. The staff were professional but also very warm and approachable. Breakfast was hot and very tasty. Members of staff at breakfast could not have been more helpful. We used the hotel as a base for travelling around so we ate out for our evening meals except on our last evening, which we decided to spend in the restaurant. I ordered the steak and it came out cooked to perfection. Linda does not eat red meat and is not keen on spicy food either so there was very little in the menu to her taste.. (she likes plain simple food) as I am sure others do as well and it would be nice to see these customers have a choice as well, especially as it is obvious the chef/chefs know how to produce well presented and expertly cooked food. We will stay again in the future.

Horrific.no tvs in any room and no entertainment ..food rank place is grubby and in need of an overall or just be demolished
Staff advised they need 16k to fix the tvs but can not source the cash asked why they don't advise they dont have tv's and we were told they need to get people into the hotel so can't advise this place is a kip

Stayed here the weekend, the staff were really nice and helpful.
But the food was just awful people were sending back their food and leaving because the fish was off!! I asked for my steak to be medium and it was so rare it ran away,
And the soup was burnt! On 3 separate occasions I seen people order a coffee and they had to go looking for it because know one made it.. I’ve never been in a place and seen so many people complain.

Staff were helpful and accommodating, food was ok, prices were exceptionally reasonable for food drink and stay over all. Lost a star because the rooms were a little drab and old and could use a coat of paint but clean and functional

15 years ago, this was probably a 4 star hotel. And seeing as the time machine hasn't been invented yet, I can't vouch for its 4 star status now. That said, we were greeted by friendly staff and directed to our 3rd floor room. I'd have been well chuffed if we had booked an early 2000s themed hotel experience, but we hadn't. We booked based on the pristine photos on the website, beautifully shotback in the early 2000s. Staying here in June 2017 shaves off a few stars. The decor is well worn. The rooms are clean with tired furniture. Breakfast could have been better all round. Again, the staff were friendly, but at 8.30 we arrived to tables half cleared and below average grub.

Needs a serious update! The bed was absolutely shocking, no fridge, no iron, and the shower was just a dribble. We were in a suite too! The staff was were nice though.

Bar not fully stocked, they offer cocktails but dont have half the ingredients. Food is lovely though. Stay away from the pint of guinness though not good at all. Staff are really nice. Rooms are spotless. I suggest going down the town for a drink though.
