Great market selling stuff you cannot get anywhere else in cork. I don’t know why there are so many tourists as they usually don’t cook themselves! You can also use it as a shortcut as there are multiple entrances connecting parts of the city center. Great during rainy days 😊

The best place in city center to find fresh and genuine food. You gotta pay a little extra for quality though. Fish is particularly expensive .

A Foodies Paradise.. Fresh local produce for all your eating requirements sold in a historic market. Nice cafes also with an award winning restaurant upstairs which has an overview of the market.

If you like fresh markets you'll like this place. Plenty of fresh meat, seafood and produce. For tourists who aren't able to cook, there's bakeries and cafes and sandwiches you can pick up for quick bites as well as a couple souvenir things. Prices are reasonable and not overly inflated.

Visited on Tuesday: it is a charming market, a little small compared to others I have visited, but nonetheless a pleasant visit. The market was not crowded when I visited, and the selection of meats is a sight to behold. A couple of bakery and cake shops are also present, and the chocolate shop in particular looked extremely tempting. Upon recommendation, I had some grilled sausages and potatoes which was fabulous and whetted my appetite.

Great market. True Cork "institution". Great ingredients available. I love the selection of butchers and fish mongers.

If you are in Ireland for any length of time go here the the sights and sounds are nothing compared to the smells and tastes. Try as much as possible it's all great!

Beautiful experience, tons to look at, more to taste. Something for everyone, cakes, sweets, dinner, and coffee, jams & chutneys, fresh and dried fruits, local organic vegetables. Everyone takes pride in their work and it shows. A tantalizing place to wander through, right at the heart of Cork city. Not to mention the hidden dress, accessories, hair and trinket shops lining the entrances. A must visit for anyone wanting to see what cork is really like.

What can I say bout this location .. I hope it will be preserved for the next 500 Yeats.
Was living in Cork for quite a long time. I'm not born in Eire.
Every year I need to go back to Cork. Definitely I go every Christmas.
First thing I need is to dive into English Market.
Cannot explain properly why you should go there - just do it!

This is a gem of Cork City! There is so much to choose from inside; bakeries, pâtisseries, green grocers, butchers, fish mongers. The list is endless. Even if you don't buy anything it's great to have a look and walk around. There us a great cafe that is upstairs too with a great view down on the main entrance.
