Absolutely loved it !!! The way the life of the islanders is presented is neat, informative and gives a very good impression of how it was to live in such remote place. The story of the people of the island really grabbed my attention and it felt like a romantic trip to the past. Really well presented. The small theater with a movie being played - well done! great composition. The gealic concurs quite interesting. And the emigration stories were rounding up the whole concept.
I also must commend on the window view at the end of the corridor !

Interesting history of the Blasket island Nicely set up museum, historical videos, art, culture and the writings of the inhabitants of the Blaskets. There is a lovely little gift shop and a place to grab lunch. We grab a dessert which was very good. Stop here to get all the history of the island, then head out on a boat to go see it for yourself! I will add photos soon.

A must visit for anyone going to the west coast of Ireland. This place is stunning!! Staff were exceptionally helpful and the €5 entry is very fair. Great work by all involved.

Beautifully designed building and well curated exhibits. Also a clean, modern, and tasty cafeteria with reasonable prices and stunning views. You really get a feel for the hardy folks that lived on the island. My one suggestion would be to update the video, it's a tad dated and slow. Overall wonderful!

Great museum telling the story of the Blasket Islands. Even gives insight to where the folks who left in 1952 would up and how they spread their knowledge. The video that is shown is very informative. Great to read about all of the great storytellers that called this place home.

We had too little time to spend here. We expected your average heritage center: bit old fashioned and just listing dates. The opposite is true. Not only the building is very modern but also the approach to tell the story of this island that is now uninhabited. There is a very good short movie on the history and the decline of the island. The harsh life conditions are described and how the islanders coped with it. Apparently several of its inhabitants became writers. Also their story is well presented. In short: a very interesting visit. Take your time to visit.
