Stayed here last month and am so glad I found it! The weather wasn't great but luckily, we stumbled across Bervie. Homely, warm, clean and wonderful service. A house with wonderful history and a perfect location. Being right next to the beach, just through the gate in the garden, was a real bonus. However, the real bonus was the food. It's not often you find a place that has it all. Whoever does the cooking here, is just fantastic. Our evening meal was outstanding. A great place to relax and switch off, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Thank you Elizabeth for your hospitality and it was lovely to meet you!

Our only regret is not staying here for a few more nights!
The rooms, the location, the food all combined for a wonderful visit. The rooms are spotless and offer a little alcove, ideal for sitting and enjoying a tea, looking out at the ocean.
The beach is just outside the door, perfect for an impromptu walk to explore the coast.
We had dinner in the restaurant, which would have been worth the drive from another spot, but we only had to walk down the hall. A lovely excuse for enjoying an extra glass of wine.
All this under one room made this the perfect getaway spot. Thank you to Elizabeth for her warm hospitality!response / report this review -

A wonderful place! Once you have stayed here, you will always want to return. Everything about this guest house is perfect, from the Hosts, to the rooms, to the food, i love it & so will you!!

John and Elizabeth are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. The Bervie is tastefully decorated, very clean and the view is spectacular. The food is fantastic, the best dinner I have ever had. If you are traveling to the Island, I highly recommend staying here.

A delightful stay. When we arrived the owner suggested we sit outside and enjoy the lovely view. We sat at a table and she brought us a tray with tea, ice water, and cookies. The beach is right out front; enjoyed walking along it at low tide. We had a regular double room. Spotless and comfortable, but not spacious. The choice of pillows was much appreciated, a firm foam one (standard issue) and a lovely squishy one (a rarity). The Bervie also has a first class restaurant for dinner. Food was superb (roast lamb, salmon). Not inexpensive, but worth the money. They serve only from 7:00 to 8:30 so you need to plan accordingly.

What a fantastic place to stay! A very scenic shorefront location, well maintained buildings and garden, very pleasant rooms and excellent breakfast / dinner. Everything is very tidy and clean and arranged with lots of loving care. And the best of all are the incredibly caring hosts. We'll be back!

Stayed in The Bervie on Achill island many times in my childhood and have very fond memories of the place. Located on the beachside you can have a morning swim followed by a fantastic breakfast before a stunning walk around the island. Would highly recommend as a place to stay on the island and look forward to my next trip.
