Great venue to sit outside and watch the sea. Good service and the bad is good too. Worth a visit if you want a beach stroll and a nibble.

Nice views are all that save this hotel. It is very outdated. The food is not great either. We've had bad pints of Guinness on a few occasions. Sad really as it could be a spectacular place with it's beautiful location.

The food is really homemade and excellent, the staff very friendly. My friend's wedding planning went fine with kind assistance from the wedding planner provided by the house.
The rooms, however, are cosy, but all different and the older ones could need some little improvement though, whereas the ones in the new side building are state of the art and offer highest comfort.
The location and the view is exceptional!

Very disappointed after driving a long distance to check this place out.Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the day before the June bank holiday, hoping to have a bite to eat.It wasn't overly busy.Sat inside the bar area close to the windows overlooking the sea view, can't complain about the location,it's a beautiful spot to be in so close to the beach. Myself and my partner watched as a number of bar staff passed us by without asking had we been looked after so after waiting for about ten minutes I asked the barman could I see the food menus.I was handed the menus by the barman without as much as eye contact, the conversation with the only other person sat at the bar about the previous night's football match was obviously more important than potential custom. I didn't feel like spending any more time there after that,I felt like our custom wasn't wanted.

Do not stay at this hotel! Rooms are extremely worn, my room's shower did not work and was never fixed during our stay, mold in bathroom, dirt behind and under bed, ugh! We scheduled a shuttle pickup at the airport - it never arrived. You call the front desk to report a problem, the phone rings and rings with no answer - I must have called a dozen times! Our rooms also had an old fashioned key hole (rather than using an electronic key card to lock) - the hole was big enough to look into from the outside! It did not feel safe, and my friend came out of the shower in the morning to find a man in her room! She screamed and ducked into the bathroom -
    - when she came back out with clothes on he was gone. The hotel had no explanation. Lastly, there was only one clothes iron for the entire hotel. And to top things off, on the second night of our two night stay, right before we were waking early to get to the airport, there had been a big storm and the hotel had no electricity. So I got to wash my hair in freezing water and go to the airport with a wet head. The beach is beautiful, but that is the ONLY good thing about this hotel.

Lovely views are the best thing about this hotel. In the summer it's hard to beat sitting on the outside patio enjoying a great view of the sea and nearby Martello tower. Tea and a scone served with jam and cream is usually a good choice, though it can be a bit hit and miss. Good selection of more substantial offerings.

Nice view. Terrible food, service and facilities. I'll put a rusty fruit spoon in my own ass before I recommend this to my worst enemy.

Went in for a cup of tea on St. Patrick's Day morning. I was told to pour my own tea from a large vat, milk was in an unpleasant plastic jug at the bar. The tea tasted abysmal, unsure if the vat had previously contained coffee and had not been cleaned out properly. I assume we were mistaken for guests of the hotel as another lady came over to us and asked us whether we wanted anything else. When we told her that we were not guests and we had been told to pour our own tea she walked off. Very strange experience, at least no one asked us to pay for the tea which we barely touched as we left!

The views are wonderful! It's not too far from the airport and there is a train station close by to go into Dublin. Be sure to call and book the shuttle ahead of time for transport back and forth to the airport.
Breakfast was very good and the staff was all very helpful.

Nice clean hotel, reasonable room prices. Right on the Donabate Beach that has nice coastal walks. Nice bar and atmosphere. Good food too.
