I was strranded in Galway last night when my car broke down, i had cash on me but no id as had left wallet at home, i had picture of my passport on my phone and have stayed at this hostel numrous times over last 5 years. It was wrong and stupid to refuse a person for not having physical ID in the circumstances, even told the girl the names of the other staff working there! I am sick to death of being discriminated against by foreigners in my own country and was fortunate enough another hostel had the cop on to take me at face value. Truely stupid behaviour, never again Salmon weir.

Budget hostel. Small bedrooms but spacious sitting room and two kitchen areas with double of a lot of things which is very handy as you're never in someone's way or have anyone in yours. Very well equipped, lovely staff and great location, no time to anything central. Only drawback is a curfew of 3am as the staff let you in there's no keys for guests but this didn't bother me on my stay.

This was the first hostel I'd stayed in out of a total of five in Ireland. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily and the staff had a multitude of items available for me to use - such as a power plug adapter and an umbrella. It was quite reasonably-priced, as well. I'd definitely come back here again!
