Although the place seemed busy with bookings, I thought the dinners were overpriced and the service was bad. Staff forgot to give us menus and then forgot to give us cutlery when our meals came out but they were apologetic and seemed friendly but there were other little things that could be improved. The toilet area was also dirty. My friends did enjoy their food.
Food was beautiful Pity the staff were lacklustre. It was a very quiet Friday evening when a group if us dined here. We had to ask numerous times for waterwhich I think is just bad service. We would have also spent a lot more money had they asked us for the dessert order instead of just giving us menusafter 20 mins of waiting we just wanted to leave it kind if ruined our experience. The chefs do a great job though FAB food!
Had lunch in R's cafe yesterday.food good but service not. Tables left uncleared and uncleaned. Sticky tables not what you want!. The staff appear surprised when you request cutlery and when it was offered, left in a pile for us to pass between ourselves. The day was very wet but perhaps some attention might have been paid to keeping the floor clean or at least brushed. It's a pity because the food as I said was good. Someone needs to take responsibility.
Honestly I've never had a meal here that made me happy or smile.
Invited by friends for breakfast this time. When I arrive the table was sticky (eventhough my companions were already seated and eating) It's busy but not crazy and the girls are standing in the kitchen door actively waiting and there's no sign they've even spotted me coming through the door.
Service is friendly but the grubby impression stays.
The small breakfast is a good size plate which includes a good amount of fried potatoes, a sausage (nothing special), a piece of nice bacon, a really good egg (runny at the top for dipping but the white perfectly cooked), a piece of (Clonakilty) black pudding (always good), half a tomatoes (I was lucky cause my table companion wasn't given that privilege). Overall not a bad fry up at all but with 2 coffees it's just under €15,-
I'm not convinced. There's no propulsion playing for food but for that money I would have really appreciated beans and a coffee on the house.
For sure for sure there are better breakfast deals in cleaner surroundings in this town.
I will of course keep trying whenever there's visitors who insist but for now it is what it is: a not entirely easy and equal exchange.
A really good spot for food. Lots to choose from. You can enjoy a tapas style meal or a main course from the menu. Apparently it's one of Michael Flatleys favourite restaurants!
Yummy pizza, great kids menu
Exceptional food and service guarantees a superb night out.
I unreservedly recommend Richy's for a whirlwind tour of flavours in a congenial setting wonderful friendly service. :-)
Been here a few times First time got a langostein dish was brilliant, second time got a curry, beef was very undercooked.. I don't mean rare I mean tough. So try it and I hope you order right and enjoy it
Lovely enjoyable dinner on what unfortunately for staff a quiet evening. Fantastic specials.beef Wellington that was melt in your mouth and breaded langoustines. Staff friendly and informed, knew when to appear and when to let us enjoy our food. Highly recommend
Good food, a bit pricy, especially for Clonakilty.
