Was down in Kenmare on holidays. Had recently eaten hake in a supposedly good restaurant in Dublin so i had something to compare with. The hake was so fresh in Quinlans and the batter so perfect i ate it with my fingers and it melted in my mouth. You pay a little extra than you would in a 'chipper' for fish but my God you get what you pay for here. The staff were also lovely, nice guy from Dublin running the place.

Fish cakes were awesome. Fried squid (calamari) and chips were good but the chips felt a little undercooked. Very nice service. FYI, no alcoholic drinks. Take away is cheaper than eating in. If you eat in, just head upstairs and grab a table and they'll come take your order.

Great food. Surprised at how many people were surprised that it just served fish 😀 We sat in and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Great to have the special of the day too.

The day before this review, Quinlan's opened in Kenmare for the first time, so some leeway has to be allowed for them to settle in.

We had the prawns and some onion rings. The prawns and the chips they came with tasted great and were well cooked, and the onion rings were huge and crispy, but everything was incredibly greasy. While that doesn't bother me, others may be put off by it.

Things are likely to improve over the coming weeks as the staff gets used to the new equipment and the town gets used to the new restaurant.
