The tour was too short and too expensive. Two stars because I enjoyed seeing the famous staircase, but taking a picture was prohibited. I thought the actors were funny, not really scary, but charming nonetheless.
Our tour guide Mary was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable of the home and its history. Shes a wonderful storyteller!! The house itself is amazing and definitely worth a stop! I'll definitely go back for one if the evening tours next time!!
Fascinating place with an interesting history. Tour is informative although with some young kids on it I think the guide tactfully toned scary things down slightly.
The venue is a treasure albeit almost derelict and I admire what they're trying to achieve with the on going restoration project. Beautiful location too.
Not as scary as I thought it would be but use your own judgement if you have kids mine weren't scared but some in the group were. Staff are very nice, Joe is very entertaining! Lovely Cafe for tea and sandwiches and a small gift shop
Really enjoyed my visit to Loftus Hall with the wonderful tall tales of ghost stories what a wonderful building and the great work they're doing to preserve it for future generations I just hope to of the building in the future. Well worth a visit. And the staff were fantastic very funny and friendly.
Last tour of the day 7-22-17.
Very small group. Sara was our tour guide. She was incredible. Very knowledgeable and engaging. She really liked what she was doing and was very good at it. Answered and asked lots of questions and shared her own personal accounts at Loftus Hall.
Highly recommend! 5+stars.
I enjoyed the tour for the most part I think I would have enjoyed it more had it been adult only or later at night perhaps as I'm sure it was, quite rightly, toned down for the young ones in the group with us. Our tour guide Mary was animated and engaging throughout, and all staff I met there were cheerful and friendly.
On the downside I felt that the €2 charge on parking after having paid a tenner each for the tour, as well as paying for teas and coffee and snacks etc., was a little much and it felt greedy if I'm being honest. Would be far more inviting if parking were free.
Overall I would go again, perhaps to one of their lock in events. It's a beautiful ruin of a hall with a lot of interesting architectural points even if you're not into the ghost angle and it's location is unsurpassed.
I've done this tour twice now. Very enjoyable. Tour guides are extremely knowledgeable about the house and it's happenings. I'd recommend anyone who is in the south east to make it a point to visit
Haunted House Tour! Visit if you can, beautiful area, creepy house that offers tours. Amazing history. Has Cafe and giftshop too.
To be honest you should of left the place the way it was.. now it has tour guides and zip lines for kids.. how is the spooks ment to work? Every sacred or haunted place is ruined by commercialising it. (Making money)
This is one creepy place. I brought 3 kids to Loftus Hall and they loved it. The staff giving the tour are excellent. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and looking for something to entertain the kids for a while on a wet day. The adults also enjoyed the experience. Note - coins are needed for the car-park.
The Gardens and Visitor centre are great. Very well looked after and that View! However the tour of the house is not worth the money. Tour lasted 15 minutes and consisted of being shown 5 rooms, all downstairs. No access to main part of House or upstairs. Tour guides themselves were very informative.
