Stayed there 2 nights and found it charming! Service was the excellent / warm, friendly, attentive. Best breakfast we had in Ireland. I agree with the person who said she could see that the management and staff took pride in the establishment with little things like fresh flowers on the tables and white table cloths. The room was comfortable, the location was great. The hotel has a long history and has been kept up to modern standards but not too modernized. It feels historic. Just lovely.

Great central location. We were upgraded to a lovely spacious and very comfortable room. Plenty of places to hang out if you want to relax with a drink, or play a game of pool. Staff were very polite and accommodating too.

The hotel was lovely inside and out. You can tell the owners/managers are very proud of their hotel. Good good, kind staff, fluffy big towels. Great attention to the details of the room.

Love the elegance of the hotel. Rooms very comfortable complete with jaccuzi. Staff went all out to get us quiet rooms. Not fond of the traffic and need to park in paid parking lot away from hotel.
And you can walk to almost anything for music, food, shopping. Within 9 minutes.response / report this review -

Beautiful old hotel! Staff were polite and efficient. Breakfast and dinner were amazing! Room was clean and had a jet tub and shower! Great central location and the bar had wonderful live irish music.

The hotel is centrally located but there is no parking nearby. There is a lot a few hundred meters away that will cost up to €5 a day. Our room was small but clean. No air conditioning but thankfully there was a cool breeze. The attached restaurant was very good as was the breakfast.

The building is nice, but definitely caters to an older clientele and tour buses. I booked a Superior Double; months in advance, but when I arrived I was given a pathetically small room, no air conditioning (necessary for the hottest day of the year) and told that there was a fan in the room. I was finally offered a room at the Ross Hotel which was a far better experience and no losing status due to tour buses.

What a wonderful hotel & superb value for money. Killarney is a beautiful, welcoming town in arguably one of the most idyllic locations in Ireland and The International Hotel is located right in the centre of it all with easy access to all of the routes to the local "must sees" - Muckross Abbey, Muckross House, The Torc Waterfall, The Ring of Kerry, The Gap of Dunloe and Kate Kearneys Cottage, The Black Valley and a base for longer excursions to the Dingle Peninsula, Bantry Bay, The Blasket Islands or the Iveragh Peninsula and the Skelligs or north to The Cliffs of Moher. This is a party town, make no mistake, but it has no impact whatsoever on those of us who are looking for hiking, history and peace. Even the revellers - of which there are many - are no trouble. The Hotel is fantastic - the décor, the games room, the quiet alcoves, the breakfast room are all top class. The sauna (66 degree max is ample - 4 max occupancy) & leisure centre are perfectly adequate for a property that does not base it's appeal on this aspect of the offering. The rooms are simply excellent and the WiFi is 5*. I have been before and I will be back again.

I have never stayed in this hotel, I popped in this morning for some breakfast. The staff was exceptionaly friendly and could not do enough for me. Fantastic service, the food was brilliant and the price is very reasonably. 5 stars from me and well earned.

There was a giant spider in my bathroom. They obviously don't bother dusting the cobwebs out if the corners. The kettle was weird and had an exposed heating coil. Also the rooms use real keys which sounds cute but the key fob is larger than my cellphone.
The access to the sports center was nice and the beds are pretty comfortable.response / report this review
