Noisy vending machines near room, fire doors wedged open, loud, long conversations in the corridors at 01:30.
Cold room, ?slightly damp, stark lighting
Very limited TV channels with poor picture, bed not overly comfortable
Bathroom, cold, No strainer in the sink - so don't drop anything, wooden shelves delaminating
    Mediocre breakfast
Definitely gone downhill offer the last 2 years, You can do a lot better in Cork for a little more money - I shall be

Move on to other hotels. We arrived at the Commons Inn because Trip Advisor has never steered us wrong. Some how this place gets half decent reviews. When we walked in, the lobby was a little outdated, the receptionist wasn't friendly, but we're good sports and didn't think much of it. When in Ireland right? The location alone is poor. It's outside of the city of Cork so the only way to be where everything is , is to get cab or drive. By the time you pay the cab fair , you might as well have upgraded to a better place. When we got to our room, it was disgusting. The smell of mildew, cigarettes, and human body fluids flooded the room. There was mold on the ceilings and stains on the beds when we lifted the sheets up to check. I never go out of my way to write up a bad review. But I wish there had been more honesty here with this hotel. I feel like the people that are disgusted, are so disgusted they don't even feel like writing a review because the biggest concern is to get out of there and get in the shower and start over somewhere else. When we left we told the receptionist we were leaving and they didn't care at all. They know the place is gross and I'm sure they're used to people walking out. Go anywhere in the actual city of Cork and stay. It's definitely much better to be as far away as Commons Inn as possible.

Myself and my sister stayed at the Commons Inn for 4 nights and we both absolutely loved our stay, very friendly staff and the food was gorgeous. The kitchen even made myself and my sister pancakes for pancake Tuesday and they were to die for! I've stayed in some beautiful hotels around the world and the Commons Inn is right up there with the best, would highly recommend = )

Staff was all wonderful and a very spacious room. The wifi was not good at all. Our shower backed up while we were there and it wasn't fixed during our 4 day stay. It is sad that these things happened, because other than that we liked the hotel, but we probably won't be going back on a return visit. The bar staff was great though!

Nice clean rooms. Reception location is a bit confusing when you come off the street. It is at the end of the small parking lot in the front. The restaurant is popular so finding a place to park to check in is difficult with very limited turn around space. We found out the next morning that the main parking is around back & you can come in to the lobby that way. My suggestion to the hotel is move the reception sign to direct people to the back. Great food at the restaurant.
