An Amazing place full of interesting exhibits telling you the history of Fort Dunree. The museum has plenty of external exhibits - namely large Cannons. There are also walks to go on, although these aren't well signposted - would be nice to have something to read when out walking. Some of the buildings are falling into disrepair and it's only a matter of time before they collapse. Overall a very interesting place to visit if you are staying in the area.

Lovely regional museum. Family history adds an additional interest. Docking one star because I think the displays could do with an overhaul by a professional curator.

This museum is very personal to me in a lot of ways. My dad was one of the officers there during the second world war as a member of the FCA and I myself joined in the 1970s and spent a couple of happy summers training at this camp. But the place is full of history and the museum has some great resources with great displays and informative videos. For me though just walking through the place is filled with the feeling of history and you can almost hear the men marching in the square. The view of Lough Swilly is also breathtaking. One of my favourite places on earth.
