Fabulous B&B. Wonderful staff especially Evelyn and Maureen very helpful and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this B&B.

Great location, room was beautiful with very comfortable bed, shower room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was very tasty and the owner Maureen was very helpful and welcoming. One of the best B&B's I have stayed in Ireland.

We made reservations, then Maureen called us and asked us to cancel reservations and book directly with her. We did what she asked, then emailed her for a confirmation. We never got the confirmation. We called her and she said she'd send confirmation, still never got one. Not knowing if we had a room or not, we booked with a different hotel. We tried to cancel with Emmet House, but again have been ignored, no confirmation on the cancellation again.
Don't know what's going on, but this is a terrible way to run a business. Really souring us on Ireland B&Bs!!! Bad Bad business for Ireland!!!response / report this review -

Waaay overpriced, charged me €120. It's just a b&b, I could have stayed at the county arms 4 star hotel for that price & had a better experience. The charge for cancelling 4 days in advance was €120.

We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights. Maureen was a brilliant host. The breakfast was first class and the room we stayed in with the 4-poster bed was a dream. Highly recommended B&B in Emmet Square, Birr. 10/10.

The best b+b I ever stayed at gorgeous room with comfy 4 poster bed and lovely unsuite. I even had a hot water bottle in my bed when I got back from a wedding.

Emmet House is a family owned Bed and breakfast in the centre of Birr County Offaly. Very easy to find. Lots of bars and restaurants close by.
