The hotel is very nice asthetically. Some of the reviews saying it needs renovating are little OTT. Maybe some rooms are getting a bit dated now. Food is very nice (chowder) and some dishes are average. Nice dark rooms and comfy beds. Would recommend.

This looked like a lovely hotel. I was only there for an antiques fair which was also lovely and situated in a lovely room. Next time I hope to stay!

lovely spacious hotel. had lunch in bar at 12.30. friendly staff,lots of choice on menu. Food was lovely, I had pea & butternut squash risotto. Toilets exceptional with vanity area & hairdryers.

The older part of the hotel is Georgian and their are some interesting rooms. It's close to the Town Centre. The rooms are spacious and equipped for a family. Lovely grounds.

What a great hotel! I really enjoyed the week I spent at the County Arms while in Birr on an equestrian vacation. The staff was very professional and kind. They were so nice and accommodating! Most impressive was the food, it was delicious! I have a dietary restriction and alerted the hotel early to see if they would accommodate and they were glad to. The chef made amazing things for me and I was so grateful. The room was fine. They only thing I wished for was a stronger wifi connection but it wasn't the end of the world after I got used to not having it.

Terrible food. Both of our meals were terrible. Dried, reheated food that I didn't finish because it was so poor. Nice surroundings, but honestly the worst food that I've had in years.

Food wasn't great, service was slow and staff who served me weren't one bit nice. I left very disappointed. Food was over priced for what was a bad meal.
