Just beautiful house with incredible history.
Fantastic. Wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended. The highlight of our Irish vacation.
Pretty modest operation with tour of a grand house which is still owned by the family. This is a Victorian house from 1870s owned by a family descended from the "high kings of Ireland". But I really enjoyed the tour and our young tour guide was sweet, enthusiastic, VERY knowledgeable and really went out of her way to give a great tour. (I believe her name was Kate or Katie, though I may be remembering incorrectly.) So cheers, Katie, I really liked the tour!
We had a very nice stay. Clonalis House is a beautiful 19th-century grand family home on the ancestral estate of the O'Conors. The O'Conors were gracious hosts, and shared the house history and O'Conor history with us. Mrs. O'Conor prepared and served the best breakfast that we had in Ireland, including eggs collected the same morning, freshly poached plums (not stewed prunes) and really good French-press coffee.
I got blamed for stopping up the toilet and getting crumbs all over.
