My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Clayton Hotel. The gift of the box of chocolates for my birthday was a lovely touch. The person on reception was very professional and welcoming. The staff were very well trained We would certainly recommend the Clayton Hotel to family and friends. We were also impressed with the variety of food for breakfast . We will certainly be returning .
Yours sincerely Winifred and Edward O Donnell .
Great hotel, facilities excellent. Rooms comfortable and clean. Gentleman who greeted us on arrival touted for business for restaurant, promising pre booked table and 10% discount. This was neither sought nor expected, nor I might say delivered, but did make some of our party uncomfortable. He asked if we would require a taxi the following morning then said there was a taxi rank across the road! This was only blip on an otherwise great experience, all other staff were excellent.
Myself and my two teenage daughters chose the Clayton Hotel because of its proximity to Dublin city and the swimming pool. We wanted to treat ourselves to a night away and were delighted to be welcomed as if we were staying for a week. The staff were excellent, the room fantastic - and quiet - and the breakfast was wonderful. A perfect treat.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was great. The gentleman behind the counter was excellent in helping us get checked in early and was very helpful with the location questions we had.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable. both restaurants were very good as well. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Hi Mr. O'Kane!
My family and I enjoyed our brief stay! Your staff was wonderful, regardless of our needs and I know they met or exceeded my expectations! Your food was great, regardless of whether it was in the dinning room or bar and those staff members were also great! The only thing I would ask is that you improve the mattresses and possibly the television selections. Maybe not as critical for the tv, as there are a ton of things to do in and around Dublin, but the bed was not good!
Excellent transport links from airport to hotel - the aircoach.
Clean hotel and nice room. Hotel has a decent size swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room! 15-20mins walk to city center and lovely staff. The hotel location is good, not too far from all the sites.
This hotel is very well located, it has several shops and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Room, lobby and public areas are very confortable and clean. Wifi is very good and fast in all public areas and in the room.
Breakfast was good and diversified. The hotel has luggage room.
We chose this hotel because of its locality to both Grafton Street and the Aviva Stadium where we planned on going. Informed at reception when booking in that the room had recently been refurbished and was classed as superior room. Shared by myself and my two sons. First impression on room was very bland and plain and didn't at all give the impression that it was a superior room. Bathroom disappointing: hand basin extremely slow to empty as plunger type plug wouldn't work properly, toilet very hard to flush, restricted shower space due to plastic shower curtain. Plastic disabled seat over shower looked a bit weathered and discolored and also wouldn't stay upright out of the way when using shower so we each had to completely open shower curtain to provide adequate space. Large waste metal panel on bottom of shower area partly sunken down exposing sharp dirty/soiled edges of floor tiles. It was only a one night stay and so didn't want to make an issue of it and spoil my two boys break and hence the reason for not reporting it. Although the beds were comfortable and clean and the breakfast excellent we wouldn't choose this hotel again because of the issues I have mentioned - sorry. Staff at reception very friendly and helpful though.
This is the first business hotel I have stayed at with no air conditioner. You could assume that each bedroom of a 4-star hotel has its own cooling / heating control. I stayed there for work on possibly the warmest day of the summer. I opened window but it cannot be opened wide enough for good ventilation; then I got a fan delivered, which made lots of noise and didn't really help. However, facilities are great and Staff are really helpful. I am sure it would have been fine if it was not been that hot outside.
Was visiting with a couple of friends and 2nd time in Dublin. The hotel was perfect for lots of reasons. Location was perfect for touring around and close enough to walk into town. All staff we interacted with were brilliant. Housekeeping were very responsive when we called down for more towels and the restaurant for eating dinner and breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities but my friend did and raved about it. Thank you.
spacious and clean rooms. the staff was very friendly and so was housekeeping in the corridors. that's the most important!
otherwise:
really weak flush caused an incident or two..
the HDMI was, weirdly, unplugged so we had to troubleshoot ourselves to watch the telly. that should be part of basic room preparation.
entry area isn't that inviting and there are too many smokers right outside which shouldn't be able to block the entrance.
good sauna/gym/pool -> although floor right after getting out of dressing room was dirty. sauna would be even better with some smelly oils rather than only shower water.
liked it and will recommend to friends. good price and still very walkable to the centre of town or temple bar.
Very modern hotel with plenty of features, pool and bar area are perfect for a short stay in Dublin. Rooms were clean and did not have any trouble sleeping. The hotel even took care of our bags after we checked out as our flight wasn't until late in the evening!
The nicest most friendly and accommodating hotel I have ever stayed at! Superb facilities! Gorgeous food and clean spacious rooms. Staff remember you and will do pretty much anything to keep you happy! Absolutely loved my stay! Had a massage used the gym and jacuzzi! Literally can't moan about anything! Bar open late lovely atmosphere! Brilliant! Can't wait to go back! Felt at home. Even the bar in the daytime always serving food, footy on the screen, cozy lights! Room service, even really good internet and to channels! Highly recommended
We stayed here as we were attending Billy Connolly in the 3 Arena. Location is great, rooms are so cosy and beds very comfortable. We were at the back of the hotel where the view is not as nice as the last time we stayed we were at the front. We ate in the bar, food was excellent. Breakfast next morning was also excellent and plenty to choose from. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to stay again.
