It's a fairly old cinema, but it's more about the convenience of being across the road from unbelievable fast food restaurants.

Not your top of the range brand new cinema but local, convenient and cheap, also quieter than big screen cinemas.. I never go anywhere else, also staff are very nice

Old local cinema, no bells & whistles but all the more charming for this! Parking right outside the door. Clean & well maintained with friendly staff. Showings always seem to be quiet and never have to queue for any length of time. Always a pleasant visit! 😀

This place hasn't changed since my childhood and I love that! They also had fizzy chips as a sweet selection in their pick and mix Fizzy Chips! 😊

Generally a quieter Cinema than most. 5 screens, has all the major movies. Plenty of snacks.

Very clean and friendly. Unlike the bigger cinemas nearby, the popcorn is delicious and not loaded to the brim with salt. The staff also chat to you like you were friends which adds a personal touch. The Usher would even ask how the movie was on your way out

A legendary cinema for film fans in Cork over the last 2 decades.
Was once a very vibrant and busy cinema, not some much now a days.
Despite upgrading to Digital Projection in all screens, it has failed to attract the crowds it once did, possibly due to the cinema in the nearby parish of Mahon and the age of internet. The only criticism a such is the seating in the screens. While practically all cinema's having slanted seating from the back of the screen down to the front, Douglas has kept the original straight-levelled seating, which can be annoying if someone much larger than you is seated in front of you, and also can be lead to a sore neck.
The cinema is an icon for Douglas, with great memories. I remember going to see 'Finding Nemo' in 2003 as a young boy in this cinema. What I remember the most was the unbelievably long ques inside and even outside just waiting for tickets to see the film. I and others would only love to see the cinema renovated in anyway possible to attract new crowds, and would be heartbroken if it was to be shut down.response / report this review -

It has the latest movies at a good price. Unfortunately it is closing soon to make way for a supermarket.

Older cinema, with the most helpful staff, large car park, right in the middle of Douglas village, have never had to queue for more than 5 minutes
