Would recommend this hike on a clear day as the view is extraordinary. On the best days it is possible to see Clare and the majority of Kerry (depending if you're on the front or back) including Fenit, Killarney, Dingle Bay, Tralee and everything in between. I often do this and would recommend to go up the back and see the fort and either make your way to the front and head down that way or go down by the lakes. To finish off I'd recommend stopping off in the Junction Bar for a nice meal
