Where do I start from, I guess the bottom is as good a place as any. The day quite placid in nature, the trees were suspended perfectly in time, not an ounce of wind throughout the climb to the top. It took 5 gruelling weeks to reach summit, we lost a few men along the way to responsibilities such as wives and jobs. We started off with quite the experiences party, actually, very much so. We have all done dozens of sumits in the past, but this was our first Irish one. After the 5 weeks of treacherous climbing, lack of food finally hit us and we were forced to look deep inside to see if we could really make it those last 300 feet up. It was down to Ted, Harold, and myself, being the most experienced climber I took lead. When we neared the summit we saw dozens of figures standing and staring towards us. Ted looked over at me in such a confusion, we had thought that we would be the first ones to summit Mangerton since the Romans built it in the 12 century. As we approach the crowd, we realized it was a 3rd grade field trip, with no gear or anything of that nature. We made it, that's all I cared about.
Can't get enough of this.
