This was an amazing experience and adventure. I'm not in that good of shape so we took a good number of breaks to take photos and eat gas station sandwiches (which are great in Ireland btw.) It took us a total of 8 hours to get up and back down. I was exhausted at the end, but would do it again in a heartbeat.

Exciting climb up Devil's Ladder, fantastic views at the top. My favourite mountain to climb to date.

A great challenge. Make sure you are not too easily scared. Especially if you take the devil's ladder route. Fortunately had clear skies so had a great view.

Really nice hike to climb the highest mountain in Ireland, specially via the Devil's Ladder. Adequate hiking shoes and equipments are highly recommanded. If you don't have experience in mountaineering you should hire a guide.

Great hike. You can have the challenge of hiking up Devil's Ladder, and then come down by the longer Eastern route (it's faster).

There are many ways to make it to the top. Local guides will be more than happy to take you and there are walking groups that are always happy to have a new adventurer tag along The easiest straight forward rout takes you to Devils ladder or staircase. It's a bit steep and for an average fit person can be a small challenge but it can be done. The gravel and dirt can be tricky so watch your feet and take your time. When you make it to the top of Devils ladder your about 3/4 the way up. The last bit is again steep but you just take your time. On a clear day you can easily do this but I clearly don't recommend doing this alone on your first time and especially if weather conditions are not favorable. It's amazingly beautiful at the top. So enjoy☺
