This is the 2nd time I've used budget, and not sure if I'll use them again. The 1st time it all went well (picked up car, returned with fuel, deposit refunded, credit card hold released a week later), but this time worked out a little differently. The first two cars I got had electrical issues (warnings for rear lights) and the third one seemed ok till I got onto the m50 and a warning light came on for tire pressure! . . So when I got to my destination, tried pumping it up, only to hear it hissing, so went to take it off, to find there wasn't a Jack in the Car! (Luckily the people I stayed with had a Jack in there garage). Got the wheel off to then discover there was a bulge in the tire wall of the car, which could have theoretical blown at any time when driving along the motorway. .
When dropping it off at the airport (topped with fuel), I was told the tire was my responsibility, and that I would be charged 150euro, and I told them about the jack, which they noted on the file too (sincerely hope I'm not charged for that too as they didn't say I wouldn't be!). The full deposit was removed from my credit card, then fuel deposit returned, and excess refunded minus the cost of the tire (there was no mention of removing security hold during all this, so I'll need to see what happens there) and I was told to fill out an accident form (there wasn't an accident) and a damage report form. This whole process took way longer than I thought it would as the guy didn't seem to know what he was doing and kept having to ask colleges. I used an external broker with their own insurance company who I'll try and claim from.
Finally got to the airport terminal with an hour to spare and made it to the plane on time (thankfully). So not sure I'll use budget next time. . Probably just a one off situation, but it's left a bit of an impression on me and I'm doubtful I'll use them again.

Great friendly service from Paul, Theresa and the team, always helpful. Cars are fine, clean and modern. Excellent value for money - no need to look anywhere else at Dublin or Cork Airports. Keep up the good work

The sales desk at the terminal were very professional.
If travelling with children that require a baby seat/boaster chair they advise calling ahead so they can have the car waiting instead of having to take the bus.
The car pick up terminal is located 5 minutes complimentary shuttle from the airport. Things do take time so allow for extra time.
When checking out and wanting to pay cash have the exact amount as they don’t give out change.

I rent cars quite a lot from Dublin airport, I have found budget to be one of the best in terms of customer service, the short time at counter and return process . Almost always painless! Would recommend any day of the week!
Usually from getting on transfer bus from terminal to driving out depot less than 20 minutes.

Arrived early in Dublin Airport for 7.30 am ordered car for 9.30 so would be able to return closer to flight time home and intended to go to breakfast first then do paperwork and collect car, called at desk to check where to go and helpful young man I think called Jonny said we could do the paper work now as you got a very generous 2 hours either way of the rental, I was shocked at I normally rented with "HURTS" excuse the pun which gives 29 minutes and I have been stung with this before due to illness. Upgraded the car for a reasonable amount I just think the excess which you really do have to take out is excessive with all hire companies went for breakfast and collected the car as intended around 9.30. When we returned the car at 9.30 on the Sunday morning was told we were late and that although still generous you actually only get 1 hours grace, was a bit annoyed about this and argued with the attendant who eventually waived the excess fee but was still a sting in the tail of what had been a lovely trip. I would rent with budget again and hopefully now I know wont be making that mistake again.

Excellent experience with Budget Car (Aug 2017). Having reserved online I knew to go straight to the transfer mini bus and on arriving at the hire car area I was first in the queue and my car was fully processed and I was driving out of the gate within 15 minutes. Return was busy but similarly painless process.

The staff at this location were very friendly and helpful, however I have a huge beef with the claims department. We paid for the full coverage auto insurance, as this was our first time to Ireland and we were unsure of our driving skills with everything being the opposite of the USA. On our last day, we of course took off the mirror of a parked car. We got all of the information needed to give to Budget to take care of this man's mirror, however we have been informed by this man that Budget has not contacted him. We have tried to contact Budget numerous times and they do not get back to us. I am VERY unhappy with Budget's Claim Department and would not use them or recommend them again due to this issue. It has been a month since this accident occurred. If someone does finally resolve this issue, I will change my review, but at this time, I have nothing good to say.

POST NOTE: Apparently they have finally contacted the man we hit, but it took a very long time and we had to continue to contact Budget to handle the matter.

My experience with Budget Car Rental was a pleasant one. I was picked up at the airport Terminal1 within 10 minutes for a short journey to Car Rentals Center. Within 20 minutes, I got my car ( similar category as my booking). Staff were courteous, though not friendly..most probably due to long line of customers. No fuss returning at the end of journey, completed within 5 minutes, off I went .. back to Terminal 1 by shuttle bus provided. Will use the same service on return visit.

Nothing short of wonderful! We flew in from the US (my husband a day earlier) and we were looking forward to our first time in Ireland. Seamus at the front desk made everything easy, quick, and enjoyable. We had a terrific car, our monies taken out for fuel were refunded in a reasonable time, and thanks to the great customer service picking it up (and returning it), we will definitely rent from Budget when we return to Ireland!

I do hire cars from Budget every week for last 8 months. Very happy with their service. Always hassle free pickup and return, although I always show up at odd time ( 11pm). Stffs are always friendly and co operative. That is why I choose budget over any other company even If i offered better price.

Transfer and pick up were quick enough, seeing it was fairly busy for the time of year. Had a brand new car, which was very comfortable on the long drive I had to do. No hassle with insurances etc. as I always book through an organisation that takes care of all that. Drop off was equally easy. Deposit for the full tank was repaid straightaway. Would definitely use them again.

Pick-up and drop-off was very quick and easy. Transfer from and to the terminal from the car park was easy and quick too. 5 Stars up to here.
Just the fact the Budget has blocked 1500€ for insurance excess from my credit card for the period of two week after car drop-off is not very funny.

Extremely easy pick-up and drop-off at Dublin airport. Very friendly staff member at pick-up even walked us over to the car. Sign posting was clear when taking the car back and the shuttle to the terminal was quick and hassle free. The car was clean, new and in very good order.
