Recently stayed in this wonderful B&B on a trip to Kinnitty. It is a beautifully kept old manor house with a lovely homely atmosphere. Our host. Chris, was very welcoming and is a fountain of knowledge on the local area. The reason for our visit was to go hiking in the Slieve Bloom mountains. This B&B is ideal for this as it is situated in the heart of the mountains. Also Chris has a detailed knowledge of the local walking routes and will send you of on your way with a hearty breakfast. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at several B&B's and this one is by far the best I have experienced . . all due to Chris's superb hospitality and warmth. Love this lady! She prepared simple, delicious, traditional Irish breakfasts and served little treats with tea in the afternoon. I ate everything that was offered to me :)
She was an excellent source of local information on things to do close by. The setting of her house is quiet, comfortable and cozy.
My only regret is that we couldn't stay long enough to see her play at the pub in town on Wednesday night! Can't wait to go back!

My sister and I finally took our a trip of a lifetime. We enjoyed horseback riding over the Irish countryside for six days and then were able to relax with Christina at the Ardmore House for four days. This was my first visit to a B&B so I was not sure what to expect. Accommodations were absolutely beautiful and she provided wonderful full Irish breakfasts made to order as well as afternoon tea. She advised us on local activities and attractions such as Kinnitty Castle, the town of Birr, local walking trails, Leap Castle, and historic sites like the awe inspiring Clonmacnoise monastery ruins. But if we felt less adventurous, we were totally welcome to stay in and get caught up on our reading. It truly felt as though we were staying with a friend. I highly recommend Ardmore Country House B&B for your stay.

On arrival Chris offered us to relax with tea, and sat with us to chat for a while. She gave us some ideas of activities in the area, which helped us explore a glorious castle nearby. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable. We were lucky to be taken to a nearby pub for live music on a Wednesday night, a hospitable crowd and good craic, where we heard award winning musicians joining in. Breakfast the next day was one of the best on my week-long trip. Chris is a great host.

Surprised and thrilled by electric blankets & snuggly beds. Chris made us cheese on toast by the fire because we were so late arriving that every pub in Kinnity had stopped serving food! Chris couldn't have been a more thoughtful host. We cycled and she had a fine shed for the bikes, gave us great local maps and even offered to make us sandwiches for the road! Will certainly be back. A great experience from start to finish.

Ardmore House is the loveliest place I visited in a long while. The house itself, bedecked with lovely window boxes, is set in a lovely old world garden filled with roses and old flowers.
The atmosphere is light and the pace is easy in this tastfully restored old house. Nothing is OTT so one can relax in easy comfort, a home from home. Tea, cheese scones, home made jam and chocolate cakes were offered and gratefully accepted on arrival. My bed was comfortable and the breakfast just perfect. Thanks from a very happy and well rested guest. MMG
