Hotel with friendly staff, but humid room

I stayed for one night in early March 2014. I like the staffs, as they are very friendly and helpful, also the breakfast menus were varies, the hotel is also located nearby Selat Panjang street, where you can found some street vendors of chinese food easily.

Unfortunately I don't really like the room, as the room smells badly (severe humid smells, combine with insect spray), and there was no window that can be opened to change the air. That didn't make me comfortable, as it made me coughing badly. I think the hotel management has to do something about this. Also I don't really like the dark color of the wall and floor, as it makes the hotel looks dark, and everyone thinks that the floors and walls are clean, but they are actually not, when I take a deep look at them. The application of black wall and floor in the bathroom is also not good, as it makes the bathroom dark. Please do something about this.

Well Done, the Location is Great and the price is great, you can just open the back door of hotel and you can find many street food (Selat Panjang) although the price is quite expensive but I still think it is worth it.
And just few minutes to arrive big shopping mall in Medan and also some historical place.

Rooms look nice, but in all of them there is a strong smell of mold. We saw 3 different rooms, all of them had the same problem. It felt unhealthy to be in the room. Fortunately we just booked 1night. Besides the smell the rooms look nice, the breakfast is really overwhelming. And at night it is realy nice to eat outside in the surrounding streets. There is a constant traffic jam in front of the hotel. It takes seriously 30 minutes to get out of the street by car. So we suggest to walk a little to avoid this.

I have stayed at hotels all over the world and have never been met with such incompetent reception staff. When I tried to check in to a multiple room booking under a colleague's name, the staff were completely unwilling to help me check in due to hotel policy. Even when my colleague (whose name the rooms were booked under) called the hotel, they would not allow me to check in, but insisted we call Agoda to change the booking. Then after the booking had been amended and I showed them the updated reservation with my name, the hotel still wouldn't let me check in until it changed in their system. My experience with these kind of situations is that people can always help if they want to, but the staff here were completely unwilling to help or be flexible at all. Based solely on this, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Acceptable quality for a 3 star hotel. Amenities include a TV, Hair dryer, kettle and other minor things. Small night market at the back of hotel.

High density. Air conditional is insufficient for a whole room. Temperature stays at 25/26 deg C even with set point of 16 deg. Good location in town, easy to find food. Free Wi-Fi.

Good business hotel with a decent room. The great benefit of staying in this hotel is the prime location. Located near the middle of the city, it provides a good access to its surrounding. The restaurant is pretty good, with a good range of breakfast menu available served as a buffet. Note that the room does not offer any pretty sight due to its location. One of the benefit of staying in this hotel is the very quick access to the night market through the back door. The hotel is located besides a night market mostly filled with local restaurants that primarily opens at nights. It offers a wide range of Medan local cuisine. This place is perfect for those who loves to try local dishes.

Nice place.. behind the hotel is the famous Jl. Selat Panjang, the food haven of #nonhalal dishes.. so eating won't be a problem here..

Located near to Selat Panjang street-food center. Affordable rate with good and clean room. Unfortunately no window view, everything is blocked by the next building. Convenient store available.

The room is quite clean but doesn't have refrigrator and also cupboard. It's located in very lively china town area. Unfortunately there's not swimming pool also.
I took residential fullboard meeting package, the meals are so so .. kinda home made food (not medan local food). But the coffee breaks are abundantly. They served soto also during coffee break.
The service staff is very friendly and helpful.

1. Improve your wifi please! -can hardly send an email or browse YouTube with it.
2. Do something on sound-proofing! So that I won't hear the mid-night gossiping or..in the room next to mine.
3. Is it that hard to install a door to the shower cell?
4. Water temperature is always only few degrees higher than the air temperature, well let's say I'm a hot-shower lover, but at least provide options.
5. Hard to believe there's no openable window in a smoking room, gotta open the air exchanger all the time.
6. The TV set is too smallwell I admit that my eye sight is not good enough to see the subtitles on a 21" screen from several meters.
7. Two stars for clean bed and comfortable pillows and stuff that can also be found in other hotels.
Tell me if you've improved it, so I'll check in again.

I requested NON-SMOKING room but they said it's not available. They should notify me before I check in!! I also request for my friend who will check in tomorrow to get non smoking room, and they said that they cannot book the room, it depends on the availability on the next day. How stupid it is!!!

The room is disappointing. No carpet, black granite floor (feels like on the pavement road), small room, tiny tiny windows with no view. No refrige, under illuminated bathroom.

I don't know how this hotel gets a good rate and review. It doesn't deserve 4 stars, even 3 stars!!

Great hotel with nice rooms, spacy.

Breakfast also great but the dining room not quite big, till i have to eat at the table in front of the lift.

Noodle soup so delicious.
And for omelet you should tell the chef without salt n pepper. Coz they will put it as default

Very near to the chinese food steet food

As a 3 star hotel, the breakfast consider quite good. The room is clean. However the toilet is too dark. It should install brighter light.

Check in late for delaying flight.
Pay for 1 nite since get twin bed, then when got in the room even more disapointing although it's consider to be my own fault, I didn't ask specifically for no smoking room.
The smell for me annoying actually, but hv no choice, they claimed to be full.
The next day, after b'fast, went to reception for extend n changing room.
They told me they HAVE NO any room on my actual rate. The bigger room avail ! It cost me almost double of the rate !
A 4 star hotel failed to notify n reconfirm to their guest.
Local hotel in anywhere can do that, why ?
Very disapointing !
