We had great view of the ocean from our room, perfect for watching sun rise. Staff are very nice. Food is good. We also used diving service from the resort. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was overall a great experience.

Lovely older bali style small hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. TV, fridge, kettle and balcony with wonderful views. Beach is right outside. Suitable for snorkeling. We had a superior villa for 3 nights. Breakfast is simple, fruit, eggs, pancake or nasi goreng. Ate at the restaurant for dinner twice. Food was fresh and tasty at a great price. Great value for a 3 star property . Stayed early Jan 2018

Very very nice Bali Villa, black sand and Pebble Stone Beach, nice pools, outdoor furniture was weathered and worn, spa massage was okay, restaurant was a 3 out of 10, they couldn't get over easy eggs right.

Wonderful food, beautiful views, exceptionally friendly staff & the best dive guides! This is our second trip here and we will definitely be coming back for the world class scuba diving, reasonable prices, and welcoming atmosphere!

Exceptional place, combination of sea and pool, super friendry stuff, nice menu, balanced prices. We went for diving purposes and turned out being our favourite days in Bali. Great option for relax and dive in corals!

Beach front, awesome pools, nice clean rooms. Amazing snorkeling right in front of the hotel. The only reason i give 4 star is because of the restaurant. The food was great, but there was no vibe at all!! No music, no ambiance, and the little vacation feeling you are looking for when having a beer before dinner was just not there. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Love this place. Was in low season. Rented villa. Prices great. Food is good. Landscape - you are like in Paradise. Good corals for snorkeling but a lot of plastic in water. 4 stars!

Beautiful view from the balcony (Room 2), nice and comfy bed, spacious room. The bathroom was old and smelly though and could definitely have a proper brush up. The breakfast is also too basic for the price charged per night. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Beautiful and perfect stay in a nice and clean villa room with direct sea (and pool) view/access. The restaurant offers good meals (try Bali Pancakes!). We had some very nice diving with the Bali Reef Divers and rented a scooter for a day. Staff is very kind and helpful, fully recommend this place!

Besides my Blooming Lotus yoga retreat in Ubud, Amed and the Puri Wirata Dive Resort were my favorite parts of my 12-day holiday in Bali. Eastern/northern Bali is absolutely stunning, with volcanoes as backdrops and gorgeous volcanic black sand beaches. Such a contrast from the Caribbean, what I'm used to back home.

ROOM: very spacious suite, king-size bed, very comfortable mattress and pillows. I sitting area. A shame about the tiny bathroom though. Thankfully, I just took a quick shower everyday so was mostly rinsing of at the dive shop. I was barely in that room though, it doesn't matter! Definitely didn't take away from my experience.

GROUNDS: beautiful pools, both facing the ocean. Stunning sunrises. Just so lovely to sit there anytime of the day and taking the view, ocean breeze, and take a dip in the cool pool. Loved that the restaurant had equally stunning views of the ocean and main pool area. Speaking of which…

FOOD: I was truly surprised. This is definitely one of the better resort restaurants I've been to, especially when taking into consideration price: quality ratio. Great deals vs. quality of food. Yes, many of their Western dish interpretations were completely different from what you would have at home. Yet, they somehow pulled it off and they were delicious anyway!

Excellent value, great service, generous portions, just delicious. Went to town a handful of times and found the dishes at Puri Wirata were more often than not cheaper, yet much better quality. Try the great local Balinese beer by the way, Stark. Very nicely priced at the resort. Blonde or dark. Must try!

Breakfast was modest, but decent. Their natural fruit juices were to die for though, order them!

SURROUNDING AREA: My friend and I rented a scooter and this was the best decision. For less than USD $6 a day, we got to explore the coast and different restaurants in the area between surface intervals.

DIVING: I booked the 5 day/4 night All You Can Dive package, which included 10 dives, one free (so 11 total!), and it was amazing. The team at Bali Reef Divers, the in-house dive shop, is great. Fantastic guides, spotters, and the equipment was in great condition. Since they are mostly shore dives, the resort has a fantastic deal where you get to dive every dive site from Tulamben (where they have another dive shop) and Seraya to Amed and Bunutan for no extra charge. Other shops wanted to charge extra if you wanted to do Tulamben if you were in Amed and vice versa. Really great package at the Puri Wirata, highly recommended.

We saw everything: several pygmy seahorses, lots of tiny shrimp, crabs, baby lion fishes, skeleton shrimp, all types of frogfish, ghost pipefish, trumpet fish, too many reef sharks to count, mantis shrimp, Hawk fish, etc.! What a variety, I even saw 3 moray eels in the same hole - WOW! All the vibrant colors of macro against the backdrop of black volcanic sand made it a truly spectacular sight. just wow. Amed is, hands-down, one of my favorite diving destinations in the world after 90+ dives in over 9 different islands/regions around the world.

My friend did his open water PADI course here and also raved about his instructor. Upbeat, yet patient.

All in all, a truly fantastic diving holiday. Great price, great resort, good food, even better staff! Would definitely go back.

Excellent! My fiancé and I have enjoyed our stay here. From the epic views to the friendliest of staff everything has been smooth sailing. We hope to come back and spend more time in the quite town of Amed.
