Candi Plaosan, also known as the 'Plaosan Complex', is one of the Buddhist temples located in Bugisan village, Prambanan district, Klaten Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, about a kilometer to the northwest of the renowned HinduPrambanan Temple.

Candi Plaosan covers an area of 2,000 square meters with an elevation of 148 meters above sea level. The Dengok River is located nearby, about 200 meters away. Candi Plaosan is surrounded by paddy fields along with vegetation such as banana and corn.

No entrance fee, but you may donate. Better go after 3 pm until sunset cz it's so hot during the day. It's not so crowded by visitors so you can relax and enjoy the feel of countryside with beautiful twin temples surrounded by rice field and you can also see Merapi Mountains. Definitely one of the best places to enjoy sunset.

A beautiful temple with mixed style of Buddhist and Hindu. Recommended for learning or only for picnic. The ticket price is very affordable only Rp 3000 in year 2018. The location is easy to find, only 10 minutes from Prambanan temple. This place is very clean and comfortable. A worth place to see the sunrise or sunset.

Located just 10 min drive from Prambanan, this place has its own charm unlike other place. Known for the twin temple built as a wedding gift, too bad not much information regarding this temple on site.
Tourist rarely visit this place and the ticket price also cheap.
When we went there, there is only around 5 teenagers has a visit and it can be so hot during the day as there isn't much tree around.
I like this place more than overrated Candi Ratu Boko.

North Plaosan temple seems to be overlooked as it lies too close to the magnificent Prambanan, Klaten, Central Java. But taking good close range photos of this temple is way easier as it remains in sight despite the fence preventing people entering the compound beyond working hour.

This temple occupies a small area where local peasants and farmers cultivate rice, corns and other crops. Slightly larger than its counterpart in a walking distance to the south, North Plaosan Temple is a Hindu temple with a hint of buddhism.

One of the best places to capture sunrise or sunset, when the weather is clear and nice. Two main temples have exactly same height and shape. Therefore it also known as Candi Kembar (Twin Temples). Candi Plaosan Lor has romantic legend between King of Sanjaya Dynasty, Rakai Pikatan and his wife Pramodyawardani, the daughter from King of Syailendra Dynasty, who has a different religion and culture. So, it also known as Candi Cinta (Temple of Love).

The temple is easy to access. People can have a tour from Prambanan Temple by bicycle. The view along the way to Candi Plaosan is wonderful, the majestic Gunung Merapi in the north and mountains in the south, also the rice fields in the right and left side. Local people often held festivals. The ticket is very affordable even for foreign tourist.

To get there use public transport from Yogyakarta center to Terminal Prambanan. From there is either 40 minutes walk to temple or take local taxi. We negotiated price to 30000 for 2. Best time to get there is around sunset. Its says its open till 5 pm, but it is actually open till sunset ends. There was no entry fee and you can actually go inside temples. Make sure you stay there through sunset, it's really beautiful.

Lovely area, calm and in the countryside. Beautiful temples. Super cheap entry fee. Use a grab to get here, taxis are overpriced and walking is too hot.

One of best place if you spent your holiday in Klaten, just go outside about 5 km from prambanan temple, you'll find this place.
Best for you who love photography and also you can study a historical from the relief on this temple

Good place to visit around Prambanan temple. Entrance fee is only Rp. 3.500/person. Parking fee is only Rp 2000 - 5000.
Open daily.
Don't forget to explore more, especially near the mosque. Bcs there's a pendhopo (stage) and statues.

Big complex of Buddhist temples. The twin temple are unique and as beauty as Prambanan temple at the Southern area.

We didn't enter this site because the view from outside is awesome enough for you to pose plus they were having a shooting when we asked the guard for entry. But the guard suggested that we should go to the next site which a 3 minute walk from the North one. Good view for photo because we can have Merapi Mount in our picture.

Slowly being rebuilt, the area will be huge once completed. At the moment there isn't too much to see but is worth stopping by after visiting Prambanan.

This to me is a must see as the temple celebrates the mixture of two religions of Hindu and Buddhism.

This temple so beautifull especially if you come here in the morning. The sunrise so beautifull here. If you like photography you can take a picture in the middle of the field that is surrounding the temple.

Less touristy compared to Prambanan, but worth it for photos. 3k rupiah per entry. A less known, must visit location. Several temple pieces are just recently found in the nearby padi fields so I wonder in the near future this temple can be restored fully.

Much less traffic than its neighbor Prambanan. This was built by the same king that built Prambanan for his wife, thus it's sometimes referred to as the Javanese Taj Mahal. Beautiful views of the volcano and rice paddies surrounding the temple. Highly recommended sunset here as opposed to Prambanan. Only 3,000 entry fee as of 2017!

Covering a wide area of temples. At the entrance, there are ruins of temples. The two biggest temples are similar. Awesome. Not a lot trees inside the temples area, so you need a hat and sunglasses during the day 👒👓

If you need a temple place for a break, here is a better choice compare with Prambanan Temple. For entrance fee only RP 3,000, you can experience the similar, but much lesser people here, and here with a good green field. Very good for rest and photo.
