it was pretty good, people were nice and welcoming, and they told us some tourist attractions too, however the internet wasn't working properly on some parts of the day

The staff is very friendly, they help you with everything. Also the are really flexible, my train left in the evening, but it was ok to stay the whole day. The living area is very nice and you meet a lot of people just by being around the living.
The breakfast is not something they could improve.
The location of this area is also perfect, subway is in front of the door.
I had a great time in Budapest, so if you want to go to Budapest, just take Astoria City Hostel.response / report this review -

Astoria City hostel is a decent hostel. I stayed here for 4 nights. The price is 20€ per night in August.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They will wash your laundry for 8€. Don't go to the Bali Café restaurant they recommend. Ruben's is better and cheaper.
There is a patio behind the kitchen where smoking is allowed, however, it is so small that it is practically in the kitchen and the prevailing winds blow the smoke through the entire apartment.
The apartment does face the street so it can be noisy, but it's not too bad.
On the plus side, large showers and clean, modern bathrooms with all the hot water you could want. The hostel is centrally located and immediately outside a subway entrance.
All in all, if the price were 15€ per night, it would be a very good hostel.response / report this review -

We spent there 4 nights. It was a really good time. Mattresses and bunk beds are really fine, I can't complain (only sitting on the bottom ones is not for tall people). It's placed in the city-center, so the street noise is a normal thing there - people who are not used to that can be annoyed. The windows are "doubled" so until they're closed it's really quiet. Bathrooms and kitchen also need nothing more. Showers are clean, of course with hot and cold water, while the washbasin has only cold water. Kitchen has the balkony, you can have your breakfast there. It's from the backyard side, so it's nice and quiet.
Breakfasts are fine: bread, chocolate butter ("nutella"), some jams, cream cheese was there also, cornflakes, mussli and milk, tea and coffee :) There could be more of sth. salty, but you know it's not a Hilton hahaha
Staff is very friendly, talkative and helpful. All the best to you!
Oh, and don't forget that the hostel is in a "normal" building (on the third floor, use left elevator), so be quiet on the staircase.
Finally I can say, we were totally satisfied :)
p.s. there was only one complaining guy I can simply remind you, it's not a five star hotel :)
