This IS by far one of the best hotel I've been in Port au Prince its amazing and they provide excellent customer service. the food is not bad but if your staying for a week the food wont change its part of their routine like any other hotel
Very Nice Hotel for business stay. Would not recommend if you are vacationing in Haiti. Gamens the bellman is outstanding when it comes to providing you with great customer service. He is very articulate and represent the Marriott brand extremely well. The service at the restaurant is a little to slow and the restaurant employees can be more welcoming. Customer service at the restaurant is the reason for not giving them a five stars rating.
You'd never think the hotel looked this nice inside standing outside on the sidewalk. Trendy, clean, artsy, with good customer service. The pool area looks beautiful. Didn't get to see the rooms but by the looks of the lobby and outdoor areas, I'm sure the look nice.
It’s the good among the other hotel. The staffs are good and friendly. The only star I couldn’t give for food since there is not much options for long stay guest. The menu is same all day and days.
It is the only place in Haiti whose final goal, mission and vision is to offer you an unforgettable experience and make sure you feel so good that you want to return as soon as possible.
This is a swanky hotel, especially compared to everything else in Haiti. It is like stepping into North America. There is a cafe, pool, bar, restaurant. There is an ATM there so I primarily used it as a relatively safe place to take out money. The machine has a pretty hefty fee but it is arguably worth the security.
Excellent place to stay. Nice rooms . Beautiful swimming pool. Good customer service.
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Exceptional service by Amaury at the bar. Made the best mixed drinks ever!
Marriott hotel at Port-au-Prince, Haiti is a great place with a great restaurant. Rooms are wonderful, comfortable and elegant!
Lovely hotel, great restaurant and customer service was awesome
Marriott Hotel is a relatively new hotel going on three years now, it is a place that is very beautiful, that's where the majority of high-level business people come to do business and have lunch.
Good place to stay in Port-Au-Prince. Not the best location, but the hotel is safe. The food is expensive and inconsistent quality. One night one dish was amazing, the next one it was ok. Perhaps the cook makes all the difference. The breakfast buffet is good. Although one day the fruit would be amazing, the next flavorless. Staff is super friendly. The internet service works well. It has arguably the best swimming pool in a hotel in town. It is a safe choice.
Facility is great. Restaurant service is a bit slow
It's the best hotel in Haiti right now for me in terms of good services.
First world experience, it's like you stepped into a Stargate, taken from one reality to another, excellent, world class standards
Staff was GREAT! Everyone knew English and were very helpful and knowledgeable to answer questions. The hotel itself could use some touch-ups: my room smelled like cheap men's cologne, sink was stopped up, bed linens always felt damp but my requests were always quickly addressed. Pool was clean and beautifully lite at night. Gym was nice if i had the time i would have used the personal trainer who was available. Cafe was good option for breakfast. Restaurant was ok. Did not try the $25 per person breakfast. Gift shop was quaint. I would likely return.
Nice place to stay in PaP. More expensive than the Best Western but worth it.
This is the best that Haiti has to offer !
The one who complains are the ones who have no ideas about Haiti's standards.
Remember, it is the poorest country in the western atmosphere, so try to see the positive side of things here instead of complaining about service is going down, after all, the quality of life of the people living here is what is truly going down.
Very nice hotel. The best of the country.
Lovely place to stay in Port au Prince. The food is good, the décor is tasteful and it made for a calm stay.
Great hotel! Big rooms. Great staff. Very nice place. Loved the pool!
I am visiting Haiti for work and was booked into Marriott by my company. Regardless of the country, whenever you stay at a Marriott, you always expect a specific baseline of standards that must be met. But unfortunately it is not the case here.
The only thing nice is very pleasant and helpful front desk staff. Other than that, a total array of mismanagement and wrong planning.
There is no coffee machine or electric kettle in rooms. Which hotel does that these days???
There is no restaurant menu for room service in room, and no booklet to guide guests on which numbers to dial for housekeeping, restaurant or front office etc
I returned back from office the first day, and although the room was cleaned up, none picked up the empty dishes of food. They were right there where I left them last night. There was no floor mat(floor towel) in the washroom, i complained to front desk, they apologies and promised to send someone, none came for 45 mins, I called again and 15 mins after that housekeeping staff came and places two extra full size towels in my washroom despite my clear and repeated complaint about unavailability of floor towels. I was so frustrated that I did not complain again
Went down to lobby for a cup of coffee at 8PM (as there was no means of making coffee in the room, for some reason best known to hotel management), the coffee shop was closed. I was told it closes by 7 PM. I went to the restaurant and asked for a cup of coffee, was told to talk to someone at the bar, asked him about the same and was told to wait, he came back to me after 2-3 mins and took my order ( a cup of coffee and a brownie) I sat at there for 40 mins waiting for my coffee and then asked the same waiter again. He immediately asked someone else for the coffee(apparently he had forgotten my order). I was so frustrated at that point that I came back to my room..
Even though the hotel is newly built and has been decorated very beautifully, but the people who manage the services are either unaware of what international hotels standards are or they just don't want to provide better service to customers. Food is overpriced and not tasty, the menu is small and needs revision.
This is the most expensive hotel in Port Au Prince but I would never recommend this hotel even to my worst enemy and i'll definitely advise my company to book my into someplace else for rest of my stay here.
It's a nice place for family w/ kids and for business meeting. everything can be found nearby. Great place!!!
Service is falling off. This is the 4th time I've stayed here since it opened and the service is getting worse. The tables are very slow to be cleared, the breakfast buffet slow to be refreshed, the meals to order very slow to arrive. Rarely did a table have all the silverware and napkins placed. We had to ask them to wipe our table and bring silverware and napkins after they seated us. They don't notice these things. The gym was missing towels always. Sometimes you'd get towels in your room, sometimes not. The staff is mostly very courteous and I hope they can turn this around quickly because otherwise the hotel is very nice. But they are coasting right now and that isn't good.
It was not my first time dealing with Marriott but my first with that one in Haiti. Why it has to be a NIGHTMARE every time it comes to an "HAITI Customer service"? O my goodness!!!
Definitely I can't understand this mystere
Everywhere I go when you book an Hotel room, they tell you in your package if breakfast is included or not. If not not, you have choice to buy it or not.
First of all those people made me fill a paper (Credit card authorization form) because their credit card reader did not work.
The worse part, They wait until after i left the hotel to take an extra fee from my Credit card, supposedly for a Breakfast i did not buy, and for which I did not sign in my final receipt.
PS. My initial booking did not include any breakfast either smh
When I wrote them, they apologized and told me that the accounting department is willing to dispose of the breakfast up-sale and refund the money back to my card.
They Never DID!
Those people are a mess
Friendly and accommodating staff who speak English (which is great if you don't speak french or creole). Good view, great for taking landscape pictures. Gorgeous rooms. Nice amenities. Complimentary bottled water!
Only issue, food in the hotel restaurant is a bit on the pricey side.
