One of the oldest, ugliest but most renowned youth hostels in Zagreb. It's been there, near the train station it seems forever, and you can really tell that by the incredibly Harry-Potter-below-the-stairs kinda rooms and metal, pre-WWII London children's hospital like metal embeded beds and nanno-sized rooms. Everything is old, kinda dirty, cheap-looking and noisy here (although their prices are not cheap at all when compared to what you get for the money.) Rooms look more like a detention institution, or a 19 century monastery and are often too small to turn around without having to step on the bed, which is, in fact, the whole room. Didn't try the food but honestly didn't even bother. Still, there are upsides: great location, near to the main square, train station, renowned Zrinjevac square and King Tomislav's square, as well as the Importane underground shopping center. Inspire of it's unbalanced cost-benefot ratio, still one of the cheapest place to sleep at in Zagreb, Croatia, however unfortunate this fact may be. So if you're young and are just looking for a place to sleep, this is certainly a go-to place. Regardless of it's age, it gives for a great historical and a "world traveler" experience, when you look at all the crowds rambling about there. I am sure there are still many many segments I never experienced from this place, so it is yet again a great place to discover and experience. Also, you will sleep wonderfully here since the rooms really stimulate to that with their setting. All in all, a good choice if you're staying only a night or two in Zagreb, Croatia, if you wanna "get dirty" in the terms of a real Zagreb experience and first hand world traveler experience, and if you just want an adventure to remember it by. Actually, there are only two moments ever that I would choose this place to sleep over in Zagreb, Croatia: when I feel like turning my stay there into an adventure and when I want to go cheap. The third one, I suppose, would be when I want to experience a bit of a history, and the fourth one, I imagine, if I just want to feel young and careless for a night or two again. Most certainly one of the places that you should at least give a check out, because of it's real life and real Zagreb and real "what it really means to be hard core world traveling" experience. In my opinion, if you satisfy or want any of the above, go and knock yourself out - in the end it indeed is worth it. It's the spirit, man.

Not the best hostel where I've stayed but ok for a night. The girl in the reception is really nice, the guy not so much. Good location for both the centre and the stations. Little bit old.

The youth hostel was easy to find and ideally located. A short walk from the bus station and to the city centre. There is someone on duty at all times, so despite my flight being delayed there was no problem checking in. The only problem I had was that the shower in my room did not have hot water. But I was only staying three nights, and it certainly helped wake me up :-)

Kinda old furniture in rooms, but it fulfils its need nevertheless. Hostel is situated in city centre, with easy access to the main train station, main bus station is only 3tram stops away! Many tourist attractions can be reached by foot (walking distance ~10mins), and there are many local stores, restaurants and fast foods in the neighbourhood!

It's a cheep hostel near the city center. The parking is free and private! This is the best thing what i can say about the hostel 😀 It was just ok There is no kitchen

Good price, clean, yet a tad light on atmosphere. Speaking of light, the lighting in our room was so dim it cast a bit of a depressing atmosphere over the place.

That said, I'd still definitely recommend it as somewhere close to Zagreb's Glavni Kolodvor to hang your hat for the evening.

Air conditioning ONLY working in the reception, rooms seem like a sauna, considering how hot is zagreb is ridiculous. Staff was unfriendly (not all of them), atmosphere was not what you would expect in a Youth hostel. Wi-fi fails a lot on the upper floors. Men's bathrooms only had one shower per floor. The location is good tho. I would not recommend this hostel.

Do you want to sleep properly? Then just don't come to this hostel. When the heat inside your bedroom is worse than what you experience during the day/night and they give you a little fan to solve that problem, just run away. If you want you can sleep at the reception where the AC actually exists. The location is good, but that's it.

The lack of air conditioning is absolutely insane. The room got ridiculously hot in the morning, pretty much tent like, not allowing us to sleep at all. If the weather is hot in Zagreb, don't stay here.

The staff was great, the people at the reception were very polite and helpful. The place is a bit run-down and doesn't have great view, but it's clean and very conveniently placed, as it's close to the train-tram station and postal office, as well as the city's center. Good price, too. WiFi worked perfectly, so did the AC. Would stay there again.

Good location, at walking distance from the city centre; free parking available inside the inn; next to the railway station and to some Konsum-like shops open until late.
But the wifi was not working in rooms; long queues at reception desk; no breakfast offered; room very hot in August, with no air conditioning.
