This was a real highlight of my trip. Lots of great things to see, you really feel the enormity of time. The size of the place feels like a city. Take the time and get out of Split and expand your perspective.
Very impressive and nformative
Place for people interested in history and architecture I think. We just walked around, took couple pictures with amphitheatre and left.
Amazing ruins sprawling over a large area, great for exploring
Eine Grossstadt die es leider nicht mehr gibt. Zeugt vor allem von der späten Antike und frühem Christentum.
If you like historical sites, beautiful nature and a nice walk, you should definitely visit Salona during your holiday in the Split region.
You can reach Salona by public bus from Split (I think bus nr. 1), from the bus stop you have only a few hundred meters to the entrance. Entrance fee is 20 Kuna for adults, and 10 Kuna for kids.
Most of the ruins are situation close to the entrance, but you also have a Basilica and a Amphitheater which is a bit further away, the walk to see all of it is about 3 km.
