Hotel Admiral (4*) Opatija is situated right on the Adriatic Sea and Lungomare coastal promenade. Overlooking the marina in Opatija, Remisens Hotel Admiral is a four star hotel providing ideal accommodation for the sailing enthusiast. Remisens Hotel Admiral's exterior architecture has a sleek, modern look while the interior is bright and spacious.
The hotel amenities are excellent. Spend a day at the outdoor pool with sunbathing area raised above the sea and take in some marvelous views. Rooms, reception and lobby are renovated, staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast and self service dinner offer are OK The biggest minus goes for wellness and fitness they could do much much better, however there is already information that wellness should be renovated in 2018.

Have stayed here many times over the years while docked in their marina. Marina is lackluster and dingy looking but we like its easy access and barrier wall. Marina staff is knowledgeable and if you tip well they are great help. Hotel is not fully updated or renovated. Indoor pool is dilapidated and very sad. Lots of mold and mildew. Cracked and crumbling tiles. Still lots of cracked and crumbling plaster in several guest areas. Where updated, it's ok. No a/c effect on upper levels, rooms are VERY warm in summer! (They will promise you otherwise). Several emergency exit doors are blocked by furniture to prevent use. Several times we have come upon dog poo in the stair wells. Large breakfast buffet but nothing special about it. Outdoor pool is large but outdated and not in best repair. Staff is lackluster for the most part. Service is tepid.

Decent rooms with excellent waterside location. However management could be improved. Upon arriving at night we were told we could not have an extra bed for our room because the night porter didn't have the key. Although he was trying his best, ultimately this was down to poor management as he should've had a key.

Isn't worth your money - regardless of the sea view:
- they charge about 13 eur/day additionally for the parking spot, although they have their own huge garage (nice profit model, though)
- food variety is decent, but the quality below average (cheap ingredients mostly)
- room had various defects (one day without hot water, air conditioning not working, furniture damaged in places, clogged drains, etc.)
- Turkish bath/sauna smelled like feet
- Finnish sauna unprepared, dusty smell
- Inner pool without any view, cold water, small
- marina below the hotel means local workers shouting, cursing and banging on things in most early mornings.

The dinners were served as an all you can eat buffet. Frankly, I was disappointed by the food which was often not very spicy and too often cold. The service of the hotel restaurant was rather disorganized. The building, the rooms and the pool were good.

A lot of stuff went wrong there. If you were lucky elevator was working. We didn't have anywhere to park our car even if we reserved parking spot. Food is not bad but didn't impressed me too. Very small bathroom in superior room. And some of staff at reception don't get it that they are face of hotel. They weren't rude but they looked tiered and unhappy that they are working there. The pool was great but path to it not so much. They won't see me there again.
