  I have visited Hvar over 40 times since 1993. As the town changed from secluded paradise to overcrowded Ibitza style party place, most service providers deteriorated along with it. The only constant that remains is Luviji, one of my favorite restaurants in whole world. After all this time, staff members became friends, primarily because they are good people in addition to being amazing chefs. I was a bit afraid last time I visited, as I learned that Roko, owner and head chef, no longer cooked. However, his successor made teir unique beef steak in mushroom and zucchini mustard-wine souce, out of brick owen, just as good as Roko used to. Their terrace is the most romantic dinner place in town, and their home made wines are prime quality. Luviji, for me, is the only place to dine in Hvar.

  Great food! Chill atmosphere! Just insist on proper invoice because they don't write the official one and so collect from you 25% vat for taxes but avoid to transfer it to the state.

  To sum up, one of the best.
  Good service of the waiters explaining you all the dishes
  Excellent ambient. If you want peace you will get it
  Typical Croatian food. Amazing dishes and flavours.

  The food is superb, real traditional and homemade. Be aware there are two restaurants one on the ground level and rooftop. Both are great, rooftop has nice view. Ground one makes more traditional food of Hvar. Sometimes there is a big queue, and long wait for food. Must try is their homemade prosciutto and red and white wine from their vineyard, amazing taste. Goat cheese is also delicious and homemade.

  A true gem. The food and service was absolutely superb. You can find authentic Croatian cuisine prepared with care and a fantastic view from the rooftop here. If you're looking for something special away from the noise of the main square, this restaurant is a must.
