We had a 2 course meal, first one was a table with cheese with really nice combination. The main course, was pasticada and it was really sour and cold. They where fair and removed it from my bill. The last plate was a lava cake that was delicious, really good so they got to redeem themselves with it.
The service was really friendly and respectful, so we gave them a good tip.
I would go back there for the service and starters, but not so much for main course.

Great place to have brunch or dinner. Keep in mind that it's open from 12 to 2 for Brunch and 6 to 10 for dinner. Reservation is certainly recommended for dinner.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are on par with other restaurants in Hvar. I tried their truffle sauce ravioli and it was delicious. Do visit this restaurant for a great meal.

A bit more pricey than what you can find around but also more elaborated and better!

Oh my god this place was amazing! We ate there two nights in a row and would have gone back again if we hadn't been leaving!

The food was delicious and had variety and such attention to detail. The wine choice was large and everything we tried was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere was quite romantic too. I'm gonna hate myself next time I come here and I can't get in because it's so busy but if you can't decide where to eat I definitely recommend eating here.

Had a beautiful meal there tonight. loved the cosy atmosphere on the steps outside, perfect location. I had the prawn & mushroom risotto.even though this was a starter, it was plenty big enough for me as a main coursethe dessert was wonderful, chocolate lava cake, just perfect! And my waitress Annemarie, well she made the night, friendly, helpful and very smiley, I would thoroughly recommend this place5 stars😁

Amazing food for a great price, just stop wondering where to eat and get a reservation now.

Forget spending your money on some of the remarkably average meals elsewhere, these guys nail it!

The hospitality is exceptional with attentive and interesting waiting staff, a friendly and accommodating maitre'd and some wonderful, creative and well cooked food across the whole menu. Really cute setting on the steps to watch the world go by or a nice private terrace for the more romantic occasion, it's simply perfect

A must visit for a visit to Hvar!

Never go this place! 7 of us came here for a nice meal as it was highly recommended on trip advisor. But we left with the owner, the waiters and chefs beating us up. This totally unwarranted act of violence was from a basic misunderstanding where we asked for our bill due to the very late arrival of our food. We had waited for 2 hours from our reservation time for food to arrive and by then we just wanted to pay and leave, without eating. I will stress that we were more happy to pay for the food and iterated this several times. Sadly, the owner's temper took control of the situation and he punched my friend for threatening to leave the restaurant. My friend has permanent damage to his left eye after being punched in the face. He may never be able to see properly in his left eye. Another friend sustained concussion and a severe cut to his face. A police case has been raised but I wouldn't expect this to go anywhere as the owner is likely to have a powerful network to ensure he remains clear of the authorities.
It is completely unacceptable in any part of the world to use aggression as a means to exert force and in a restaurant, how can any future customer feel safe? This act of violence could have happened to any guest at Black Pepper. Please share this message, please help other guests realise the risk they are taking should they choose to dine at Black Pepper. Please share this in the name of justice.

Best restaurant in Hvar! Make a reservation during the day when you pass by as they are fully booked every night. The truffle pasta and the seafood pasta were so good, we had to come back again to have the same. Service is amazing and you get some nice complimentary drinks. Don't leave Hvar without coming here!!

Firstly, I suggest a reservation. Only had to wait 10 mins but lots of others were asked to wait longer. Great service and food was a step above. High standard and not crazy pricing. Lovely setting, a little bit cozy and romantic.

We went to the "black pepper" on recommendations. We had really high expectations because of the things we had heard.

We had the "truffiolli" to starter on the waiters recommendation and it was amazing. After the whole dinner we rated the starter as our favorite. Then to main we both took their tuna and it was the best one I've ever had. I love tuna and have eaten some bad and some good but this one was amazing. To dessert we took their chocolate mousse and that too was good, I thought it was a bit to sweet but my boyfriend loved it!

The thing that made Black pepper stand out from the rest good restaurants was that you get a few small surprises during the dinner that for us elevated the experience. All of their courses also comes with a different kind of pepper all from different places and all with different flavor.

Except from that the service was amazing, kind knowing personal and their way was professional.

We would recommend it to everyone that are here on Hvar for a visit.

Hell yeah this was a mouthwatering experience.
I guess the have waken up food demon inside of us by serving out of this world funky & delicious food.

Of course, having the perfect location in the centre helps you not starve to death when looking for a cool place close to your accomodation.

Having all tables full (we had to arrange reservation to get place) I was suprised to get meals rather quick, and yet service was flawless. You feel like they are always by your table and since guys that run this joint are locals - no questions will be unanswered. Whether It's the food, local football or just directions to great nightlife Hvar offers.

So back to food - local white wine combined with tuna steak was a blast! Not to mention their suprises by bringing us small snacks serving them with salt from Madagascar sharing interesting stories about their food travels around the world.

To top it all - cheesecake for dessert almost killed us :)

Mark my words, you will love this place at the first bite!

One of the best meals I've ever had, and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious. The waiter did a remarkable job explaining all the ingredients and origins of the dished. Highly recommended - even if it's your only dinner in Hvar.

Amazing!!

Awesome food, good selection of wines (even by the glass), and great service.

The gnocchi stuffed with prawns and ham in buzara sauce was the best gnocchi I ever had, and their steak with truffle sauce was superb!!

Just had dinner here. Fantastic food. Great helpful staff and excellent wine. We shared three starters and three mains between three of us. Our faves were the shrimp and ham gnocchi and the steak. Gnocchi had an excellent texture and taste. The steak was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, the accompanying sauce was perfect; not overpowering but tasting great. Highly recommeded.
