The BICD dive centre and our instructors (Hunter and Abi) were 5 star and very professional. Diving gear is good quality and the boats were well organised. Dive sites we visited were generally good, with a couple (including the pinnacle) more outstanding - corals were very nice but there was definitely less marine life than we expected we didn't see a single shark in a week of diving last week or many large shoals of fish (probably due to overfishing).
Accomodation at BICD is poor, including in the private room we upgraded to. The mattresses need replacing and the pillows were filthy. There was also mouse/rat droppings in the kitchen area of my room and even on my bed, plus cockroaches. Management only offered a free breakfast as an apology (we weren't even allowed to choose what breakfast from the menu though).
Overall I would recommend the dive centre for people looking to get their certifications. I would also suggest looking at other options for accomodation.response / report this review -

We actually only used this company for snorkelling but we were very impressed with the driver, dive instructors and sites we visited. They made us feel very welcome and not like we were intruding on their class session. The instructors were extremely professional and having spoken to many of the dive schools in utila should I ever wish to dive, I'd do it with these guys.. hands down.

Got my OW and AOW certifications here. Terrific staff, comfortable and convenient accommodations at reasonable prices. Dive instructors and personnel were very knowledgeable. We were there on a schedule and the team worked with us to help us get the certifications and a great vacation experience at once. They have these weekend trips for free, "Sunday FunDay" Hit the road, get on a boat and enjoy some nice scenery, drinks, beach games and snorkeling. Definitely recommend this for diving and/or regular tourist visit.

I've been here many times over the years. Great staff, well kept boats and good equipment. I always feel at home here. For 10 years I keep going back for more.

A new Texas food restaurant. Very nice place and food is good. I can jump into water anytime and come back to eat my lunch.

Very friendly staff. Don't expect great service. I guess that's standard on Utila. You carry your equipment to and from boats and set up. You are required to rinse and carry back to shop from boat.(except tanks) Regulator set up was very old. Depth gauge didn't work properly. Came up from both dives with 1500 psi. Not very long, nor deep tours. (Afternoon tours on south side).

Learned how to dive here. One of my favorite places in Honduras. A professional dive shop. Their restaurant is great, too.
