A well run and efficient tram to take you up to the Peak. Conveniently, there is also a cut the line ticket which costs a little more and gets you to the front of the queue, just like at Disney World. That's super convenient. It's a very short ride up the mountain, coupled with amazing scenery on your way up. There is food and drink to buy at the top.

Scenic views of Hong Kong's skyline. If you want to avoid the long queue then avail of the Big Bus Tour combo tickets.
If you visit during the warm months make sure you drink a lot of water and wear sunscreen.
There are a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops.
If you like city lights visit at night.

Stunning views. Go early! Head to Victoria peak team station and take the tram up. Lines get crazy long later in the day. It drops you off into a mall (I know, more malls). The tram ticket gets you free entry to the viewing at the top of the mall. After the mall - go outside the mall (don’t take the tram back down) and take a hike up the hill to Victoria Peak! Halfway up is Victoria Peak Garden.

The view at the observatory was stunning, but the long wait for the tram was probably not worth it. We came here on a Sunday afternoon (probably the peak hour) and we lined up for 2 hours just to get the tickets for the tram :( After that we had to battle with other tourists in order to get on the tram! Would recommend taking a taxi instead..

The tram takes you to a peak on sort of a hill which actually gives a comprehensive view of Hong Kong from the top. It's really beautiful, worth the money and travel. Also it would be a good idea to combine your trip with a visit to Madame Tussauds museum if it fascinates you. However the museum here is not so good as compared to the other places.

I have been there in the month of February and it is really, really chilling up there. Grabbing a nice winter wear should be a good idea. Pacific coffee is another place at the peak, which was my favourite. A nice warm coffee in a cold atmosphere with a beautiful view made my day.

The place to go on Hong Kong Island. We almost missed it as we thought we were not going to have enough time to catch the last Big Bus ride which was at 18:50 coming down from the peak if we decided to go up there! But because we had FAST-TRACK Peak Tram tickets which we got from the Big Bus ride deluxe ticket, we were on the peak in less than 30 minutes thanks to quick decision taking, to the fast-track Peak Tram tickets which saved us hours of wait time in the queue, and Big Bus altogether!! The best experience so far in Hong Kong as it combines history (built 130 years ago, 1888) with modern life today. So take the tram and go to The Peak for a breath-taking, stunning and romantic Hong Kong! You will love it. Dress well in the winter as it is very cold at night. Lots of restaurants and things to do and see!

It takes hours to queue just to get a short tram ride up to a shopping centre. The view at the top is good but I don't think it's worth it for how long the queue was. To make it worse you have to queue again for the tram back down. Total queue time around 4 hours amount of time spent at the peak just over an hour. Waste of time.

A cool experience but not worth the crazy wait. Try to sit on the right side going up as that has the best views. I recommend buying tickets online so you can skip the line. We bought our tickets via Klook, so were able to skip the line and only waited 20 minutes. From the length of the line, looks like others had to wait 90+ minutes. Another alternative would be to take the tram down from the Peak, as the line at the top is much shorter.

Pretty cool and unique tram to experience and easy way to get to the 'peak' (its not the actual peak of the hill, that's another 20-30 minute walk). On a different occasion I walked up instead and it took around an hour and was really steep so this is definitely a good alternative to that if you don't want to walk (there's also a road up so you could go by car).

The first time I road this tram I arrived super early to beat the crowd and had very little wait. I walked past at later times on other days including the day I ended up walking up and the line was huge with a wait of at least an hour. However, keep in mind that the morning is probably more likely to be foggy (like it was when I went up early) and most of the restaurants and shops in the peak facility don't open until 10am.

The queue is too long. I bought a fast track tickets but still have to queue for 2 hours! And the duration in the vehicle to reach the top is only 5-10 minutes. So I kinda wasted my time here just for standing in the queue. It's better you get there before 4pm, it's less crowded. I got there around 5pm and I had to queue until 7pm!

Very impressive cable tram that gets you all the way up to the peak in Hong Kong. Note that the queues are often very long, so be prepared to wait at least half-hour (if not more) to get on, especially in the afternoon. Worth the wait though!

The Peak Tram is a must do as a visitor in Hong Kong. It is the most popular and iconic way of getting to the top of Victoria Peak, where you get a postcard view of Hong Kong. A trip here would not be complete without seeing it. Unfortunately, because of this very reason, there are swarms of people waiting in line to take the Peak Tram during most times of the day. The wait can easily be greater than 1-2 hours long, and often times you will be in hot, humid weather with hundreds of other grumpy people getting into your personal space. My suggestions would be to (1) either come very early or very late, (2) bring your Octopus card and make sure it has enough money to cover your ticket, (3) use the restroom before getting in line, (4) dress comfortably considering the weather (although it may be unbearably hot while waiting in line, it could sometimes be a bit chilly at the peak), and (5) be prepared to stand and wait for a long time, especially if you are not doing number 1.

A fun way to get to the Peak but always incredibly crowded. You're better off getting a bus up to the Peak and then getting the tram down - cheaper, views are just as good and the queuing time is substantially less

If I could give it zero stars, I would.

At first, my family and were extremely excited to be able to go on the Peak Tram and enjoy the beautiful view there, however when we arrived, there was a very long queue. This, we were fine with as it is what we anticipated, but it gets worse. As soon as we entered, we were placed in a line of very sweaty people. We were a little annoyed, but this was to be expected also. After waiting for more than an hour, the tram finally came. However, they said that no one could go on it because they were experiencing difficulties. Another half hour passed and another one came, however, this one left once again, practically as soon as it came. It was then, two hours later, that they told us that they would have to shut it down for the day. Of course they gave us a refund, but how could they compensate for the lost time, time that we will never get back. They didn't even give anyone extra money or anything. Nothing can ever make up for that lost time, especially because it was a very hot day that day, around 30 - 40 degrees celsius. So basically, almost a hundred people were just waiting in 35 degree heat for nothing. If you want this to happen to you then sure I'd recommend it. But I'm very sure that this is an experience you'd want to miss.

A must do if you're in Hong Kong. Would be 5 stars if they weren't cash only - after queuing up we had JUST enough to buy two single tickets. Amazing they don't have a single card machine. Views at the top are great but make sure you pick a clear day, otherwise it'll be pea soup!

who doesn't love mountain peaks amid excellently maintained rainforests and skyscrapers that seem every bit a part of the landscape. Add to this picturesque Victoria bay with artfully positioned skyscrapers and what do you have? Possibly one of the most beautiful densely populated urban centers on earth.

You'd better get at the Garden Road Peak Tram Lower Terminus very early morning considering the number of residents and tourists who take the ride. The terminus is open from 07:00 AM till 12:00 PM. It is the quickest and most scenic way to get to the peak from where you'll get a stunning view on the bay of Hong Kong. There are departures every 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy the ride and the view !

The easiest way to get up to The Peak is via this mode of transport. Simply join the queue for the tickets and get in line to board the tram. The seats are comfy and you can enjoy views of the inclination and surrounds as tram climbs uphill. To return to base camp, simply hop on the tram. It moves backwards downhill. The only challenge is the long queue and absence of an orderly queue system. Best to visit early in the day when the crowd is thinner.

Been here a couple of times. It's a good visit if you've never been here. Nice views, so-so food choices. There's stuff to do too like the wax museum. I'd recommend going by riding the tram but be sure to come with printed online tickets to slightly shorten the waiting time.

I'm afraid of heights. This tram goes almost 90°, I'm exaggerating though. Big big line before you are able to go to the peak. But it's REALLY organized. They don't accept debit or credit cards, that's a bummer. Lucky I had money on me. The shopping mall before the peak have some nice prices for souvenirs. Nice staff and some cool attractions. The view from the peak is breathtaking.

Easiest way to climb the peak, but super long line on weekends. Try to come here earlier or during weekdays.

This is a historical site, you will ride the tram that has is running on centuries old track, as for the car, I think it's regularly maintained and change but they keep the retro design.

The line here is not only for you who wants to visit the Peak but also you who wants go to to Madame Tussaud's museum.

A great experience! But avoid during weekend afternoons and after 5pm every other day when going up. If you want to go during these periods, beware of the 2+ hour wait. I strongly advise either take a taxi, minibus or bus 15 up and go on the tram down. Otherwise, take the tram both ways! It is a fun and memorable experience! I prefer using an Octopus to go through the barriers and go to the Sky Terrace 428, but if you want to keep a souvenir, buy a Peak Tram Sky Pass if you want to go to the Sky Terrace 428. Ask for what the best ticket options are.

When you are on the platform, there is an 8 minute wait between each tram. You can get off/on at the 4 intermediate stops between the termini. Very steep in some parts as well.
