nice artsy theatre different from most hk movie houses. Worth a visit off the beaten road.
Place looks great, but once inside nothing special. Classic Hong Kong coffee prices, so expect to pay $40 for Pret-level coffee.
best cinema in HK because -
1) audience with best cinema etiquettes
2) best movie collections - a lot of indie and GOOD overseas movies are only shown here
3) good cafe and book store next to cinema
4) seating is good as well, no worries about the person in the row in front of you blocking your view
Great respect and passion shown towards movies and the movie-going experience. Quite a decent amount of art-house and independent productions can find their ways here, as well as organized talks.
The store inside is ever so amazing with the DVDs and posters, while the cafe is a also great place to hang and read!
A stunning theatre located in the fabric of Yau Ma Tei, the Broadway Cinematheque is a hidden gem in Hong Kong. Playing classics and off-hit boutique films, the Broadway Cinematheque is a must go-to theatre for film enthusiasts.
$65 student tickets, independent films and a fantastic Cafe adjoined. Best cinema in Hong Kong, and the only one I know of that's not in a mall!
Completely inspiring boutique feel. Have watched a good selection of offbeat films as well as mainstream ones. Also enjoy getting there, wandering through the hustle and bustle of Yau Ma Tei streets.
If you come here at all, the probable reason is that the film you want to see is only shown here - just like what my wife and I did for the first time on December 29, 2017. The somewhat chic cinema (within 10-minute walk from the Yaumati MTR station) appears to be purposely designed and built with four houses with entrances on the first floor and so are the two small rest rooms. It is advisable to arrive here at least 20 minutes before showtime or you might miss either the opportunity to release your physical tension or the opening scenes of a movie!
Reviews just for the ambience and concept. Looks unassuming from outside but you’ll be wowed by the chic and cozy feels from the cafe. It’s set amongst books and stationery. Books not for borrowing so can’t say it’s a book cafe. But people study/work/read there. On second thought it’s like Starbucks. Haven’t tried any food or drinks.
indie films, European films, film festivals, unusual rarely seen films, some mainstream with class fims, this is the place to come and get a dose of all the above.
You can find real gems here though the times they run are usually short. A cinemateque card is good if you come here often.
This cinema shows some special files such as documentary, musical and etc. Unless you are attracted to those movie, the inconvenient Transport would keep you away
Excellent arthouse cinema with good film programme and attached cinephile shop/cafe.
A good place for quality movie and related cultural activities. It is a complex of 4 cinemas, a café and a bookstore. The bookstore is not an ordinary one, it is more like a mix of movie- and culture-oriented. You'll enjoy the contents inside.
popcorn is nice. here is somewhere you can buy cheap movie tickets with some latest movies. sometimes it shows some special movies instead of the most popular ones, which is nice also.
Super friendly staff. Excellent movies to choose from.
amazing place that never seen in Hong Kong before! There has heavy artistic atmosphere! There has excellent decoration and fix up that let you feel in a cultural place!
One if my favorite places in Hkg to catch an art house flick. Great selection of films, the the café and DvD ship next door yields extraordinary treasures.
a rare cinema in hk, isolated from commercial districts, that shows an unique selection of movies from all over the world. attached with it is a cafe slash bookstore and mini store that have great characters and style. favourite place of mine personally :)
I liked this cinema a lot, though it is not as convenient as other cinemas, the environment is so different from the rest! There's a bookstore and a restaurant/cafe there, the staff's service there is better than those in the shopping centres too! Moreover, less popular movies are shown there as well!
Very cool atmosphere and loads of movie related goodies on display and for sale. Cinema screens are nice and bright and audio are fulfilling. Minor downside: 15min walk from the nearest MTR exit.
One of the must-go for movie lovers. A bookshop specialising in films & cultures and everything interesting. A CD shop features lots of OSTs and alternatives. And a cafe with cozy environment & electric sockets for your phones and laptops.
My favourite cinema in HK. Shows independent movies and also organises talks and other events. Has a restaurant/bookshop that does some good pastas as well.
The best cinema in Hong Kong, it shows both current blockbusters and international chef-pick films! The Kubrick bookstore next to it has a great selection of arts and photography books! If you want to view a book that is not in display, staff will unwrap it for you! I even came across organic cocoa powder in the merchandise section! Cinema survives because of this place!
Good sweet popcorn. The place is located in a high floor, reachable with elevator even on wheelchair. Staff is kind and efficient (as always in Hong Kong). Screens and rooms are not very big. Seats are a bit old.
