Great island for hiking and eating local food. You can reach it by ferry from central in ~20 mins. However, I disliked the really dirty beaches. People make an effort to clean them but most of the garbage is brought in my the sea. I don't recommend swimming unless u love the feeling of goo and plastics all over your body

Beautiful island. No vehicles which makes it perfect for hiking. Very green with a few nice beaches. Perfect getaway for the day. Easily reached by ferry from Central or Aberdeen

I live here. Beautiful and peaceful, except for some drunken idiot expats and the hordes of Chinese tourists that take over the trails on sunny days. Hung Shing Yeh beach is nice, and there is a lot of good hiking and exploration to be done on the island, which is bigger than people think it is. You live and die by the ferry schedule though, and getting around can be a struggle sometimes

Sun, sea, sand, hiking trails, temples, fruit orchards, craft beer brewing action.. .and seafood - lots of it. A beautiful laid back place to chill – there’s a small village street of shops and eateries, temples, and even a bookshop. Waterfront restaurants do decent seafood and cold beers. It’s a good getaway from the city even if you are just doing a short visit to HK. We took the 20min ferry from Central on HK island for a weekend beer and gorged on seafood!

Nice little island very close to HK, must visit for all tourists.
No cars, many little restaurants, quite tasty sea food.
I take 2 stars off because of the dirt and quite high prices for renting the place out.

Love this island so much!! Lots of good restaurants bars or coffee shops and you also find some small boutique selling some homemade stuffs. You can almost spend half day there, and highly recommend to see the sunset before you leave!

A quiet island that feels much like a small island in the ocean where you could find peace. Unlike in the urban area, there is less cars and less noise pollution. A great place for hiking and swimming and explore the nature. Small shops sells interesting sorvenirs and snacks unique to Lamma such as small fried salted fish called Pak Fan Yue and dried shrimps.
