This mystical Mayan city will blow your mind. Walking among the temples of a civilization that built it long ago is just amazing. The trails through the jungle allow you to connect with nature and have an exceptional experience. A place to be amazed at what a civilization once did, and that its history endures today.

This is one of the most wonderful places I have ever been. I'm not religious, but this place is almost magical and I can understand why people consider it to be mystical.

The experience at the top of the temple 2/4 and other buildings is just incredible and I applaud the use of wooden stairs, what makes it much easier and helps preserve the original rock stairs.

Beautiful place. Looks exactly like the picture. The architecture blew my mind, and I love the beauty of it. There were lots of tour guides around, explaining the history of this site. Super unique and interesting. Would definitely recommend going.

Amazing!! Absolutely fell in love with Tikal. Better than what I've imagined.

We had a guided tour and it was great. I would suggest bringing water and food. Not much options while you're there.

A beautiful Mayan site. One can only be humbled by the size and number of constructions there. One of my best experiences in Guatemala. Great place to view wildlife (birds and monkeys)

The best thing about this place is you can still climb some of the ruins unlike other places. But the issue with me is that I seen many ruins in Mexico already. So I’ll say this; yes it is an amazing place to see ruins if you haven’t seen any before but I’d like me you have already seen many it’s nothing to special. Definitely check it out if you want but try and go all around and not just what the tour takes you to see. Explore yourself and climb as many ruins as possible because sooner then later you won’t be able to. Just be safe they do go high up

We had an amazing time in Tikal National Park! The park is quite large and mostly under canopy. However, there is a lot of climbing to see the best views and the views are 100% worth seeing!

Take the time to make this trek and not only see some fabulous ruins, but with a fantastic guide learn about how these ruins were built and about the Mayan culture.

This is a great set of Mayan ruins! It is an expansive area with many smaller temples to explore outside of the main square. You can also climb up a large number of them as well. Definitely recommend.

I have been waiting for years to see this magnificent sight! Breathe taking! If you love culture & learn the history.you will never forget! Our tour guide was Elmer. He was awesome! Very intelligent & informative. We went as a big group and he even managed to keep track of all of us. I plan on visiting again. Beautiful.

Clean. Safe
A must visit to all. Must wear comfortable shoes. Bring water very safe place. Can’t wait to visit again. At night you will have the pleasure of the firefly lighting your night

Ana amazing place in a beautiful setting. Getting there early for the sunrise is highly recommended if only to experience the howler monkeys waking up in the jungle.

As amazing as it is it could really benefit from a visitor centre or the provision of additional info to guests. While guides can be a good resource information can be hit or miss dependent upon which guide you get.

Incredibly interesting and very scenic. Walking through the jungle with monkeys, toucans, and other animals to suddenly see massive spires peaking out from over the trees is amazing. If you get a good guide it becomes all the more interesting. Well worth a visit.

A wonder of the world. One of the greatest Maya city in Central America. It's a lifetime experience. Toured the place for a Anthropology project in college. Tour guide are knowledgeable and keen. Every section is properly marked and approachable for touring.

As of December 2017 the site's entrance tickets are purchased through a "bank", not your tour operator. This is extremely important if you're planning the sunrise tour ($35.00 USD). The bank at the entrance opens at 6 A.M by them you'd have missed the sunrise as a 30 minutes hike awaits you to get to the spot.

Probably one of the best sites I have been to. So much to see and absolutely gorgeous surroundings. The location is very well kept and is constantly being restored. Please do use a bug spray or you will get eaten alive. Please do make sure you hire a certified guide to walk you through the place or you may ending up researching and reading too much from your book explaining the ruins to you. Be in that moment to enjoy this surreal place. You can climb 2 out of the 3main structures. And the view from above we're phenomenal.

We took the sunrise tour and it was amazing. Best experience of our lives, for sure. We walked through the jungle at night and we enjoyed the sunrise in silence, listening the songs of the forest. I totally recommend this tour. Tikal in the early morning is perfect. No tourists, so you can explore everything with calm. Recommended.

Tikal is my most favorite Mayan ruins. This place is huge and awesome!! I joined a sunrise tour, and unfortunately we didn't see the beautiful sunrise since all of the mountains were in the mist. It was chilly but the air was fresh and we heard the sound from birds and other animals. Tikal has so many impressive Mayan ruin buildings and they are so beautiful. I feel so happy that I visited there.

This place was Amazing!!! I highly recommend you get a personal guide because they will explain to you every little detail this place has and what was it for. I also recommend you stay In a little island bear by Tikal called Flores because there's a lot to do there once your done with your tour. Don't do the morning tour because this place is known for a lot of fog in the morning and you won't see anything. Sunset tour seems to be the best offer, you get the best views and sounds of the jungle.

A must do. Debated on this tour or ATM in San Ignacio. We decided to go to the capital of the Mayan Civilization and we are so glad we did. What an educational and inspirational experience. Traveled back in time thousands of years to understand what life was for the Mayans. Photos just can't begin to show the history.

One of the most spectacular places on planet earth! My wife and I visited on while on our Honeymoon years and years ago. This time we brought our kids to see these fantastic ruins. They keep restoring more and more pyramids and making the pathways and stairs better and safer. Our kids were mesmerized. We paid a guide this time around and it was very educational. They now have little tiendas with drinks and snacks. It gets hot. There is at least one nice sit down restaurant with typical Guatemalan fare made upscale. We watched and were awed by a howler monkey shouting match just overhead that went on for 20 minutes. Fantastic.

One of the highlights of my trip to Guatemala. Tikal is a really impressive place and should not be missed. I stayed overnight at the park and would recommend it. We arrived late in the day and purchased a ticket that was good for the afternoon and next day as well. This was great as we were able to get up early and walk into the park before sunrise (without paying for a "sunrise" tour). Seeing the sunrise over the jungle and Mayan ruins was one of the highlights of my 4 month trip to Central America.

Absolutely, totally great, amazing, fantastic. Neither reviews nor pictures and/or videos could give full picture. You must (and I mean MUST) see it. Make sure to have at least 3 hours. Even better, at least a full day with sunrise and sunset. (We didn't, unfortunately.) Experience of a lifetime.

Anyone that doesn't give this a 5 star must be nuts It was absolutely amazing.

I would highly recommend taking a guide as the city is HUGE, make sure you also have at least 3 or 4 hours to look around.

I personally booked this through Dos Amigos Hostel at Isla de Flores as I wanted to do the sunset tour Didn't regret a thing and got some amazing photography and sights out of it!

Would totally do it all over again tomorrow.

Really cool experience but make sure you have enough time. We didn't get much of a sunrise on the sunrise tour (no one's fault) while some British school girls kept shushing us. Staff seemed to have no idea when bus times were so we ended up not being able to stay as long as we had hoped. Very cool ruins though and worth a few days.

I really appreciated how much of it you could walk on (up). Kind of easy to get lost though! This was a place we wanted to be sure to see while we were in Guatemala. I was very disappointed to find out that they are like ~90% reconstructions.

These were the first ancient pyramids I have seen. I was afraid that it would be extremely touristy and I wouldn't get to appreciate the real Mayan culture. Although it was touristy, it didn't take away from the experience. The tour did a nice job at explaining everything but still giving us enough freedom to roam around on our own. I stayed for sunset and it was amazing.
