The hotel is built into the side of a mountain that overlooks the lake and volcanos, it has an excellent view and the atmosphere is amazing. The hotel itself is like a small villa, with the rooms being separate huts around the mountain side area connected by cobblestone paths and stairs.

The staff is really nice. Dinner pricing was fair but a bit on the expensive side, whereas breakfast was very reasonably priced. I paid ~$8CAD for a full fledged burrito meal.

There are many scenic balconies and hammocks to relax in, a hot tub that can be reserved privately (at night is best, costs about 5 dollars a person), and a great water view in general. Would recommend to anyone staying around Lake Atitlan to try and spend at least one night here!

I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!
I stayed for a week at La Casa del Mundo and the whole experience was out of this world!! From the breath-taking location on Lake Atitlan opposite the volcanoes to the gorgeously decorated rooms, the beautiful landscaping throughout the property, the delicious food, the on-site kayaks, the attentive staff and the resident cats, this place is amazing. I could have stayed for months

La Casa del Mundo was lovely. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The best part of our stay were the group dinners, we met some wonderful people from around the world. The green aspect of the hotel is an added bonus and definitely take advantage of the hot tub. Can't wait to come back!

Most beautiful and romantic hotel I have stayed at in my life. This place is paradise. Views are to die for. The food is incredible, served family-style at dinner so you get to meet other guests. The staff are friendly, helpful, and speak excellent English. I can’t wait to go back.

Food is good and reasonably priced. Staff is very accommodating, even running our suitcases from the dock to the rooms. Rooms are wonderful. Only negative is many many stairs (most without guardrails).

Nice place , sometimes full of noisy Americans but when they go to sleep, or after they take off in the morning you can still enjoy the place .
Owners are unique interesting people .
Visited the place 3 times and stayed over night twice in the course of the last 8 years .

Described as having "the most beautiful view in the world" by a well-traveled friend of mine. Nooks and crannies to relax and take in the vistas. Stay overnight or just pop in for a meal.

There are many way to enjoy this place no matter where you stay. Kayak in for breakfast after sunrise, a small hike from a neighbouring village, or a dive/snorkel through the sunken restaurant - it's all one of a kind kind of expereince. The food is great, the service is local, and the view is some of the best from which ever terrace you find your spot on!

A great place to stay a few days: well done comfortable rooms with great views. The grounds are beautiful and everything is very well maintained. The service is excellent. Breakfast is delicious: try their burritos!
A note though, that there are tons of steps to get around. Unfortunately, if you have trouble negotiating stairs, this is not a place for you.

We took a boat ride to this hotel and restaurant. We had breakfast and then took a tour of the entire place. Each and every corner and turn has a beautiful view of the lake. I jumped into the lake from this place and it was beautiful. the service we received was excellent.
