The service was great and the location was great since it allowed for many travelling spots. My only complaint is that many things are slightly overpriced here. Other than that it was really fun! If you want to go to Tikal, this is the place to stay.

Hotel was off the main road and really hard to get too but well worth it. Not overpriced for what you get out of it. Would definitely go back in a heart beat. A lot of beauty and scenery. Howling monkeys, toucans giand dragon flies. What was the most amazing thing I walked away with was the vast amount of stars that were visible from the lake. It was breath taking. Wish I had taken a tripod to capture it.

We visited this hotel in the 90's. Clarence Messiah was our guide. The Hotel We would give 5 stars, only 4 because it was far away from anything. Overall our visit was spectacular. One interesting sidelight, The President was at Cibal dedicating the place the day that we were there.

WoW, this was the best hotel experience I've had while in Guatemala. The staff, room, pool were all great. But the food was by far the greatest. I was with a group of 5 and every dish we ordered was delicious. This is not a place for hippies and backpackers who are usually on a very small budget and usually want everything for free. I'll admit it is pricy compared to other nearby hotels, but you get more than what you pay for here. The restaurant at the hotel was the only place in Guatemala that brought all our food at the same time and warm. The only negative thing about going here is the 8-10min you have to travel through a dirt road to get here. But thats not the hotels fault, its the municipality. Your still closer to Tikal than if you stay at Flores.

Spectacular location on the lake. Very easy to make arrangements to visit Tikal, the caves, the island town of Flores, various other Mayan ruins and the ecological park. Excellent service, the food at the restaurant is typical and quite good. The people are sweet and kind. Been here 2x for several nights each time.

Rooms are not equipt proparly. Hardly one can get a salolar recieption, no free wifi, old furnitures and and a bit neglacted public places, average cooking. Good service and hospitality, nice view and adjecent lake.

They charged me $200 at the desk, sucked it up out of my Checking Debit card. Generally I had seen they swipe a card, and hold it just in case you drink water and don't pay for it. It's been 4 weeks. I've made 18 long distance phone calls, put on hold, and the manager Ximena is pissed off because I didn't give her kudos and brag on the place. Beware.
