Good considering location, please note that you are only 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the pools. Make the most of it. I don’t think you need a guild, just take a padlock with you to lock you gear. Lockers under the cover area. Everyone sits on them.

Surtounded by nature. Electricity only in the evening and at night. In the rainy weather bedclothes and everything were damp. Short way to Semuc Champey. If you are looking for comfortable accomodation, this is not the place for you. If you want some nature activity, this is the place for you.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Can't expect too much considering this is deep within the country of Guatemala. The staff are very nice however and provide as much service as they can for you.

There is NO WIFI and NO HOT WATER so keep that in mind when booking this place. Location wise, its basically right next door to Semuc Champay and you can easily walk to the various sites within this area.

Beautiful place, river front, very nice, helpful and funny staff and they are very good dancer too !
The closest place to semuc champey.
You have electricity from 6:00pm to 11:00pm and it's enough. No WiFi.
You don't have a big selection of food, but it's good.

Good room/dorm prices, 1 minute walking to Semuc. Restaurant is a bit pricey with small food selection. You can camp here with access to Cahabon's river.

This is a bare minimum accomodation. For less than $9 American for each of us, 3 in our group, we can a place to rest walking distance from Semuc Champey. Our room was a second story open air room. Think camping with a bed. No power outlets in the room, but they'll gladly charge any device you want at the bar. Showers were cold, but functional and clean. If you're someone who can't sleep outdoors, look elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend this as a multi night stay, but a great way to be close to the hike early in the morning and spend the most time at the lagoon

Big + first of all; after I left El Portal, I've noticed that I forgot a few important things at my room. The staff of el Portal did an incredibly good job, they've sent my electronic equipment on the next day with their driver to my hostel 300 km away in Antigua for free!
Thank you also for having such a great time at your Hostel. It's a wonderful place

Location is best for entering the park. The staff is super friendly. No hot shower though.

Beautiful place right next to Semuc Champey. No wifi and no power for most of the day (6pm-10pm only) BUT you don't need it. You should be taking in the beautiful surroundings. Food was really great and dorms were nice and clean. The drive here is crazy but well worth it, highly recommend this place.
