This hotel is so over the top. Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. The beds are extremely comfortable, the staff are incredibly nice, the breakfast was delicious, and the asthetics are very pleasing. Nothing but great things to say about this hotel. Thanks for having us!

It's a nice hotel, not too big, but enough to host more than 130 people. Good restaurant, wide meeting rooms, jacuzzi and comfortable rooms. It's located to 5 streets from the main Park and the cathedral, and there's a view of the volcano of Water (Agua) from the main entrance. The volcano of ire (Fuego) can be seen early in the morning from one side of this entrance

Amazing hotel. Has a really BIG jacuzzi on the open air. The buffet is impressive you’ll probably not going to found anything like this in Guatemala, it has everything fresh made juice combinations that you make to Nutella waffle and crepes. The staff was really friendly and the rooms where incredible, real luxury.

Wifi wasn’t that good but it was a big hotel and I was staying in some sort of “corner”.

Had a great 4 days stay at Camino Real. Very nice, comfortable rooms. Great bed, shower (with robe), housekeeping etc. Nicely kept grounds. The location was very good as well. It was just a two block walk to restaurants etc. yet well off the nearest street so as to be quiet. A/C worked great. No complaints whatsoever. That said, I had a room tucked away in a corner, far from the jaccuzzi. I could see where you might get some noise if you were too near the entrance and jaccuzzi. ATM on the property was handy too. I preferred to get money there than out in the town. Breakfast was also quite good.

Awful experience! I can only conclude that they did not give me service because of what I look like or where I am from. Please read on. I WAS ALWAYS KIND. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights - 3/21/17 - 3/24/17. I had no hot water coming out when I got to my room. They came right out and fixed it. I was given 1 bar of soap for 3 days. I was not given any conditioner. My hairdryer did not work. They never did anything to fix it. The big problem came when I asked that they clean my room and asked for lotion. We were gone all day. I got back to the room at 4 pm. Housekeeping had not visited my room so I called the front desk and asked that they clean the room while I was gone to the spa/hot tub. I got back and housekeeping still had not visited my room. I called the front desk. They sent housekeeping to my room. They left the room without leaving any toiletries. I ran after them and asked for toiletries. They gave me shampoo. I asked for lotion. She said she would be right back. I waited 20 or 30 minutes - no lotion. I called the front desk - she said she would get some lotion to me. Again, I waited 20 or 30 minutes - no lotion. I WAS PATIENT. I WAS KIND. I headed to the front desk in my wet bathing suit and a towel wrapped around me. All I wanted was lotion to put on after I took my shower. I waited in line for 15 or 20 minutes while the lady at the front desk kept glancing up at me and saying something to a man who would then peek around the corner and look at me. THEY WERE MEAN. They were getting joy out of me waiting for lotion. I then walked over to the doorman and asked him. He said they would bring it to me. I never got the lotion. I was always kind and patient. I GUESS THEY DON'T LIKE PEOPLE FROM THE US.

Upon arriving to this hotel, I was very impressed, but before the first night was up I was more than disappointed.

1. Went to use their famous "largest jacuzzi in Guatemala and it wasn't even hot. We told the staff and they seemed to have just reset the Brewster for the bubbles then never confirmed that the issue was fix - which it wasn't.

2. They put us in a room right next to a ballroom with a party that had loud music until midnight. I called three times to find out when the party was ending as my friend and I were exhausted from a long day of travel and just wanted to sleep. The guys spoke to progressively seemed to know less and less English each time I called even though the first time he seemed to understand what I had said. On top of it, each time he put me on hold he actually just hung up on me.

3. Our a/c was broken so it was super warm. We stayed at a place nowhere near as expensive as this place and their a/c worked perfectly so this is rather disappointing.

4. There must have been repairs going on in another area or room because a strong paint or paint thinner odor was coming through our vents which kept me up due to vomiting all night from the headache the strong odor was causing. I didn't get any sleep which was unfortunate especially because the beds are super comfortable

5. I can hear repairs or vacuuming or something from our room. Also at 6am, I am hearing a bunch of noise as the staff gets the event space just outside our door prepared. This is insane.

6. 6:50am addition to my original review from around 5am: ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! The event space is now playing very loud music before 7am!!!!!!! This is insane! Irony is that the song is "Silent Night" 🙄🙄🙄

This is me up right now as I'm staying in my room currently. Night one. So not good. I spent a lot for this room and I'm super disappointed. I will be talking to the front desk to be moved and hopefully they will remedy this with some free breakfast or something in order to get a higher rating and my negative review reversed on all the sites I post this on. The one positive I can say is that arrivals and everyone at the front desk has been super helpful, so I'm hoping they will fix this and I can fix my review.
