Beautiful park. There were two main tracks offered, one an hour the other two. Sign in and pay (10 FJD per person) entrance fee. The rangers are friendly and helpful And will direct you onto the track which is well marked. Not too difficult of a hike with a few reasonably steep sections, but keep in mind the heat and humidity, so bring water (you can buy some at the entrance if you forget). One of the coolest things I saw was the huge noisy bat colony that roosts in the hardwood forest. It doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere and if I had known I would have brought a longer lens for the camera.

A beautiful 1-3 hour walk around the dunes and beach (depending on the track). For bird watchers, there are numerous sea birds and a forest with thousands of noisy flying fox! The beach has huge waves and signs recommend not to swim for your own safety. A moderate level of fitness is required to make it up and down the dunes at a casual pace. If you're lucky you might even get to see the Fiji sevens team who train at the dunes regularly. Sunscreen and water a must.

Not to be missed in Sigatoka! The dunes are huge and spread far beyond the marked park boundaries. Not sure if other parts of the world have such mass of vegetation growing out of sand dunes (we are still puzzled as to how the trees get nutrients from the silvery-grey sand).
Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and wear good closed-toe walking shoes. If you're lucky, the park's resident cat will greet you with Fiji's Bula spirit!
Jim was at reception when we got there on a very hot afternoon. We took his advice and changed from flip flops to hiking boots, and so glad that we did - its hard work walking on the blistering hot sand. We decided to do the short walk (which takes about an hour), but if one is inclined, I'm sure the longer walk would be rewarding as well. There are few signs along the paths, so I took a picture of the big board at the trail entrance showing the park walks, but Jim went over the route with us twice. He was very knowledgeable about the park, and its historical/geological significance.

Beautiful and easy walk for everyone in a nice 45min loop ( The short track). Stinking hot day so I recommend bringing lots of water and a big sun hat. The dunes were impressive and the beach was wild. Great natural place.

Best time to go to the dunes is at the early hours of the day or late in the afternoon. The sand isn't that hot but comfortable to walk on and best to have swimmers on incase you wanna jump in the sea to cool off.

Nice walk over big dunes and established bush areas. Visitor centre a bit short on information and artefacts, but very helpful staff. Best to go early in the morning before it gets too hot.

The Sand dunes are an absolute gem. On the Coral Coast just to the west of Sigatoka. A national trust of Fiji park with beautiful walks and stunning views. If it's hot, best to do the walks early morning or late afternoon . Unmissable.

Spent a full morning here. We were lucky to have a guide walk us around the shorter walk for about 1.5 hrs. He shared not only the parks natural heritage and archeology, but also modern everyday Fijian culture. Our guide was a natural teacher and able to engage and entertain our children, a highlight was the lesson on opening a brown coconut without a knife. Something the kids practiced for the rest of our stay in Fiji. Vinaka

Plan to spend a whole day here. You start out and it's not too bad to get to the sand dunes but that's when you lose track of time. Playing in the dunes, playing along the beach.. pretty awesome.

We were there on a wet, rainy day but that didn't stop the fun.

Love visiting this place again and again. Bring plenty of water. Sunblock. The water looks tempting but be cautious about the current. Any part of the day will be windy.
