Lovely people. Beautiful location. Good food. What more could you want in an island getaway?
Amazing beach and good enough rooms, comfortable, basic (no minibar). No ice, very limited bar selection, warm beers. Some of the staff are amazing, but you don't see them often. The guy who is the main point of contact for guests is really clear on his announcements at dinner time, however, he will barely speak to you during the day, won't answer questions clearly about what to do, activities, and so on. Very laid back service, very 'Fiji Time' except check-out time. Somewhat chaotic and disorganized regarding times for activities and meals. But you get a sense they are very kind people, it's a small resort and although Blue Lagoon Resort next doors is always booked out, at Oarsmans they don't have many guests, every one eat together, you really meet the people, which was great! A kiwi who lives next door hires a small Hobbie Cat sailboat, which was great fun. The food is nearly OK, we didn't eat local food (no fish), they only offered us chicken, beef, a pork roast (very fatty) and cheap lamb sausages. Couldn't believe we didn't have fijian fish, which is amazing and widely available everywhere else we went - They charge nearly the same as the other upper class resorts that offer a great variety of food in better quality and quantity. Not a great value really. Other foreign owned places will be better value but without the 'local owned' appeal, which really translates into limited service.
Nice place
好喜歡這裡像家一樣!
Very nice people, lovely beach.
Paradise to relax, familiar environment, most amazing sea ❤
Family friendly based with great, kind caring people If you love Fijian people without expectations this is the place to go to relax! Best beach outside! Not money based Natural Fiji not over commercialized with mass groups of 18-21 yr old drunks!
I stayed here in June 2014 and could not have been made feel more welcome. The accommodation has seen better days and the plumbing could do with a serious upgrade but this place made me feel like a member of the family , which is rare these days. It was far more peaceful than the overcrowded Oz owned place next door and really felt like an Oasis. Would be happy to come back here despite the lack of luxuries, for what I paid this was amazing value for money.
